First Look At Ryan Reynolds As 'Wade Wilson' On The DEADPOOL Set

Though we've already seen Reynolds in costume as the Merc With A Mouth, these images from the Vancouver set of the Deadpool movie provide a glimpse of the actor preparing for a scene in the civilian guise of Wade Wilson. Is some facial scarring visible under that hood?

You've seen quite a bit of Deadpool recently, now meet Wade Wilson! Just Jared has come across these snaps from the Vancouver set of the currently shooting movie, which were apparently taken in the wee hours of the morning in a "dirty alley behind a strip club". We have no idea what type of scene Reynolds is preparing to shoot, but as you can see he's not in his "superhero" duds. This character suffers from some pretty serious facial scarring in the comics and there seems to be some make-up or prosthetics visible beneath that hoodie; but nothing too extreme -- after all they still need to have their star recognizable!

Deadpool also stars Morena Baccarin, T.J. Miller, Gina Carano, Brianna Hildebrand, and Ed Skrein and will hit theaters on February 12, 2016 with a nice, juicy R rating.

Reynolds: "I'm singing in the rain, I'm singing in the---who the [frick] cut off my music?!"

Director: "Ummm...Ryan, we're not shooting yet..."

Reynolds: "Hey, taint-licker, don't [frick] with me while I'm in character, eh?"

God...my hard-on is not gonna go away until February 13th. Should I call a doctor?

@InfiniteMonkey

Guilty pleasure? No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

This will be the GOAT CBM. Guaranteed. For me, this is probably the only movie that has a shot at knocking off Blade II from the top of my all-time list.

Can't wait for this movie but I have a sinking suspicion that critics are going to eat this thing alive. Pretty sure that its the kind of movie that gets relegated to cult classic status and that's about it unfortunately. I just think the premise will be too out there for critics and the general audience. Hope I'm wrong but I'm worried that you would have to sacrifice too much to make a deadpool movie a critical darling.

@ManCalledSting

I actually think they will. Once it comes time for Punisher. Daredevil seems to be pushing the boundaries, and as Marvel continues to establish themselves as a legitimate studio, I think we'll get an R-Rated Marvel movie eventually, or at least a Netflix series. Even though they're Disney-owned, it wouldn't matter. Disney used to release R-Rated movies under Miramax (until they folded), and I believe, Touchstone...

I don't like this new trend of everyone calling the latest upcoming CBM as "this is going to be the best ever/GOAT!" We can be really excited but let's not raise the expectations too high.

@ManCalledSting well Marvel Studios only makes Marvel films so your first point makes zero sense.

the fact thats its rated R means that it has a chance to put other CBMs to shame

I hope they go with his look from Wolverine (minus the sown up mouth obviously) for how he looks under the mask. It was actually a pretty well done look for scarred Wade.

@ManCalledSting pretty pointless comment considering that Daredevil is being labeled by critics as the most violent comic book property ever. Yeah they haven't made a Rated R film but they have dedicated an entire corner of their cinematic universe to really adult, dark and violent properties. Wouldn't surprise me if we get a punisher series someday.

@ManCalledSting and if you're referring to Disney, they've made plenty of rated R films under their Touchstone Pictures banner.

As part of the offical "F*CK FOX" team....i have to say

This is ballzy as hell.. Rated R, awesome costume, clearly a good grasp on the character... Bravo

I loved KickAss (and KA2) and really hope this is a SMASH...if it turns 350-400m with such a small budget it could open the door to other studios going down and dirty and not feel like its too big of a risk

Yea..the scars will not be as extreme as his look in the comics.
Ryan's face has to be able to emote & look recognizable.

Just think,if this movie is good & makes a decent profit..DEADPOOL 2: Weekend At Bernie's

@sameoldthing that was a thing i was wondering about...Jamie Bell said the mo-cap didnt allow him to emote hardly at all and he had to use body language...but he isnt central. With Wade being the primary character he has to connect with audience and that is much tougher behind latex, makeup or mask...

@ManCalledSting I want my Moon Knight Netflix series so bad! Spector will be so unhinged due to his bipolarness and that'll be fun to watch.

And my bad, was trying to be informative.

m0th3r - 4/2/2015, 8:33 AM
@ManCalledSting exactly..Punisher with a similar budget. Im sure Marvel is watching now. A version of Frank Castle that blows off peoples fingers to make them talk. You make Frank such a monster that it draws that line between him and say Cap (like in civil war).

The best Frank we got was the 'table scene' in War Zone when he is talking to the thug and then frank blows his face off with a shot gun midsentence...its awesome

You know what I would love? If Marvel made a deal with Fox to have Deadpool cameo at the pre credits sequence of Infitinty War. Just as a fourth wall breaking smartass recapping everything and joking about not being in the MCU, saying at least Fox lets him go full on R.
