This is a 2 part article, if you have not seen the 1st part from Wade1210 then you sure as hell better click HERE!!!

Now for the 2nd part.

This from Rob Liefield via Twitter:

"Bottom line about Deadpool film is that if FOX doesn't pull the DP film together with Ryan Reynolds between GL films-they should Hari Kari
about 6 hours ago via web

Ryan Reynolds is the new Will Smith, if FOX can't maximize this window of opportunity with this star, this character, that script=MASSV FAIL about 6 hours ago via web

You have it reversed @GeekTyrant it's Warners that wants to film back 2 back GL's and disrupt Deadpool. Not FOX!! Get it right! about 1 hour ago via mobile web in reply to GeekTyrant"

So what's really going on? What we know is that Reynolds will play Deadpool for Fox, what we don't know is when, and where? Warner Bros has put 'Green Lantern 2' on the fast track to theaters. They are so sure that Martin Campbell's 'Green Lantern' will be a hit they have already greenlit the sequel.

Which is fine but where does that leave the merc with a mouth? Stranded over in Mamby Pamby Fox land. Reynolds could no doubt bang both movies out in one year but will the quality of both films suffer if he does so?

Not happening. Dead in the water. And i'm fine with that. I don't wanna see Deadpool be "Blade: Trinitied". Wolverine was bad enough...
ThaMessenger07
ThaMessenger07 - 8/12/2010, 7:55 AM
I think Deadpool could be more like Blade & Blade 2 then Blade trinity. That was why I had my hopes up and really didn't see Fox screwing this up. Blade 3 wasn't good cause they were reaching for a story. Only way I see a 3rd installment being good for Blade is a crossover with Moonknight or Ghost Rider(Both would be awesome).

I still hope this works out but I may have to accept that it would have been to good to be true.

marvel should get the deadpool rights back.

cast someone else, they're quite good at recasting roles.

lets get this movie made,if it was at marvel studios it would be nearing completion by now.
DasBoot
DasBoot - 8/12/2010, 7:57 AM
Yes they would both suffer. And this is bad a$$ news! One giant delay and the rights are closer to going back to Marvel! Hopefully Wolverine will suffer some huge [frick] up and the ball will really start rolling
jman1977
jman1977 - 8/12/2010, 8:00 AM
Agreed Shaman, I think the quality will suffer if they rush both movies and I think Warner's knows that but Fox's track record says they don't care if the movie is crap or not, just make the movie says Lauren Shuler Donner, get them butts in them seats! Bullocks! This is the reason why people will get tired of ComicBookMovies, not because there is alot of them being made but because the lot of them are not worth the price of admission because studios rush.
Shaman
Shaman - 8/12/2010, 8:00 AM
Angelo- Fox would certainly be ready, willing and able to find a replacement. After all, they're all about the paycheck and NOT the quality.

ThaMessenger07- Blade 3 could have been good had it not been written AND directed by a hack. Deadpool's already skating on thin ice as it is, being a Fox property and all. How can you not think that they won't mess it up? I guess they have a chance of proving themselves with First Class. We'll see.

Jman- Couldn't have said it better myself!
ThaMessenger07
ThaMessenger07 - 8/12/2010, 8:02 AM
@ Angelo: I would go with Matt Lillard but Reynolds is just the best choice in my eyes.

@ deadpool72: Honestly I don't want marvel to get the rites to Deadpool back. Because of the first 2 Blade films I feel that Fox with Reynolds and the rite Director could take this and make it a great series and they will be consistent with release and not dwindle on the "Shared Universe" and "budget" issues. Plus Disney doesn't do Rated R movies. HUGE PROBLEM!
DasBoot
DasBoot - 8/12/2010, 8:02 AM
Angelo @ Sure there are other actors that could play the part well, but Reynolds is perfect for the part and has a huge name that's guaranteed to bring in the money.

Keep it up Warner Bros, and disrupt every studio that isn't Marvel! Get the rights back where they belong, and hopefully Marvel would be able to keep Reynolds in the part...
Shaman
Shaman - 8/12/2010, 8:04 AM
Matt Lillard (...and his retarded overacting ass) would be the nail in the coffin! Sean William Scott would be 100 times better. Matt Lillard would make Warzone 2 out of Deadpool. That's a BAD thing.
superdog
superdog - 8/12/2010, 8:04 AM
a 1 year delay will not revert the rights back to marvel. for most of the contracted out characters its about 10 years. and if deadpool is included in the x-men rights then they dont even need to make a deadpool movie, just keep making x-men and wolverine ones. everyone who keeps hoping these rights will go back to marvel is just kidding themselves. the studios will never allow that to happen so please move on.
ShadowMan
ShadowMan - 8/12/2010, 8:04 AM
Ryan played Wade Wilson for about 4 min in a bad movie, if he can't do Deadpool then just hire someone who can, there are others out there who can be Deadpool.

TheMessenger07 @ Disney owned Miramax which has made many R rated movies...

Sorry to repeat, but I don't think they need Ryan. Deadpool is FULLY clothed, they just need Ryan's voice which would take, what? A day to record?
marvel72
marvel72 - 8/12/2010, 8:07 AM
@ thamessenger07 its about time disney changed with the times.

try & please everyone & not just the kids.

@ lugi the amount of talking that deadpool does in the comic, ryan couldn't do the voice recording in one day. :)
GLFanboy
GLFanboy - 8/12/2010, 8:08 AM
@ThaMessenger anyone can feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but my understanding of the structure between Disney and Marvel Studios is that while Disney is the parent company, Marvel Studios operates independently of Disney therefore, Marvel could make an R rated movie if they wanted to. The question is, would they want to since an R rating would severely impact their potential box office? I think they would go PG-13 for that reason and not because Disney imposed it. Another reason a Deadpool movie couldn't live up to fan expectations.

Shaman - 8/12/2010, 8:11 AM

Brashlight - 8/12/2010, 8:13 AM
This is a blessing in disguise! Don't get me wrong, I want this movie just as bad as everyone else but the longer the movie gets pushed back the more likely it is that Marvel will regain the rights to Deadpool. They will just resign Reynolds as Deadpool and make the movie themselves. That would be amazing if that happened. I mean it wouldn't be the first time Fox fVcked things up! Thanks DC/Warner for helping Marvel out!!!
OdinsBeard
OdinsBeard - 8/12/2010, 8:16 AM
wow so freakin weird, i was telling my girlfriend last night that there's only one movie star left and that's Will Smith and that Ryan Reynolds has a chance to be the next one (even tho he's had a few more flops than smith, who has zero)
marvel72
marvel72 - 8/12/2010, 8:17 AM
come on,fox.

f*ck it up like you normally do.

then its back in marvels hands.

Rob Liefield needs to learn how to draw PERIOD! I can probably count on one hand the times I've seen decent art from this guy. His figures are so grossly disproportionate it's sad. And lets not forget that this is the guy
who gave Captain America HUGE man-tits!
ThaMessenger07
ThaMessenger07 - 8/12/2010, 8:18 AM
@ Shaman: Because Deadpool is not a property to be taken as a serious CBM as it is to be an awesome action packed, comedy. I want to see Deadpool be the way he was in the beginning of Origins but break that 4th wall. Except with choreography well in between Blade and Blade 2. Fox can do that and do it rite. I don't see Marvel/Disney moving this property forward and I especially don't see them going with a hard R. 3 reasons tell me this.

1. Disney don't do R.

2. Marvel will make this one of there small budget films which is understandable but I see Deadpool needing a 80mil budget at minimum and not a 45-50mil budget.

3. If Marvel has it he will be a part of there shared U, which is cool but all the more reason to go pg13 for them. It is very clear that they are combining the Ultimate U with the 616 U to make a modernized version(that works), with the original source material that the fans love. It has been rumored that Punisher may pop up in Avenger in a small Cameo and that he may be in a later film with them(very much Ultimate Avenger). That movie will be PG13 and if he gets his own movie again, it will be pg13.

Point being Wade may be a character that is better off with Fox. As for X-Men first class doesn't matter how awesome the movie can be in the end I will be let down because I know where the story goes and it ain't pretty!

Superdog: A lot of people won't like hearing what you're saying, but it's the truth. We can hope and fuss all we want about seeing Marvel get its characters back, but it's not likely to happen, especially when you're talking about big-money franchises like the X-Men and Spider-Man.

I would hope that if we do see a Deadpool movie that it is NOT rushed, for the simple reason that there are two ways to do any job: fast or right.
marvel72
marvel72 - 8/12/2010, 8:19 AM
@ darthbeasrnugget how comes when all them great artist left marvel to create image, why did they take rob liefield with them.
Shaman

Brashlight- That depends, as per superdog's theory.
Shaman
Shaman - 8/12/2010, 8:26 AM
ThaMessenger07- Actually, that's my point about Warzone 2 and Blade Trinity. ANY movie SHOULD be taken seriously even if they are action comedies. Warzone wasn't and neither was Blade Trinity OR even Wolverine, their own franchise. The only thing Fox takes seriously is the payload. It goes beyond character concept.

And i sure hope you're wrong about First Class. But something tells me you're not LOL.
marvel72
marvel72 - 8/12/2010, 8:27 AM
@ superdog if they have brought the rights for ten years, the first x-men movie came out in 2000.

time is almost up.
Brashlight
Brashlight - 8/12/2010, 8:28 AM
Shaman@ yeah i know, but a guy can dream can't he. Im just hoping this Disney aquisition allows Marvel to be able to throw money at it and hope they can buy the rights back. but that doesn't seem like something they want to do.
MassExecutions
MassExecutions - 8/12/2010, 8:28 AM
So, Deadpool will either be rushed and crappy, or not get made for years and even then not revert to Marvel because its probably bundled with the X-men rights? That sucks.

Shaman & TheMessenger07 - Do not SPEAK of some theoretical 3rd Blade movie. It never happened.
Superman4
Superman4 - 8/12/2010, 8:29 AM
I think if Ryan had to pick between doing GL 2 and Deadpool he would do Deadpool. After all they can just cast someone else as Hal Jordan or even have GL 2 be about John Stewart. To be honest I really dont care about the Green Lantern movie, I'd rather have a Deadpool movie.
Brashlight
Brashlight - 8/12/2010, 8:30 AM
deadpool72@ yes but putting him in wolverine: origins covers them i believe. I don't know what the wording is. Whether they need to make and actual movie dedicated to that character or just have him in a movie. i believe if the character makes an appearance then they are covered.
RyKnow
RyKnow - 8/12/2010, 8:32 AM
@ Angelo , Yeah, what's the importance of Reynolds playing him. Y'know with him in it they'll purposefully write the script funny, and it'll be full of cringeworthy, groaning punchlines. As a curveball, a good talented actor to use would be Ethan Hawke.
But as I mentioned in the part one article, with Rodriguez lined up to direct, I'm not really bothered if it gets made or not.
Megaloman
Megaloman - 8/12/2010, 8:32 AM
I love Ryan Reynolds. I think he's one of the best out there right now. But I love Deadpool even more. So if there is a problem with his schedule they should definitely hire someone else to do Deadpool. Reynolds may be talented, but I'm pretty sure there is somoene out there capable of doing the deapool. And i hope the won't rush it just to fit in Reynolds Schedule. I loved Blade 1 & 2, but 3 was straight doodoo.
CadeWilson
CadeWilson - 8/12/2010, 8:33 AM
Man I can't even picture someone else playing Deadpool. Plus doing two films in one year isn't as big of a deal as some think. Liam Neeson did five movies this year and Clint Eastwood does two films a year all the time and he's 80!
Shaman
Shaman - 8/12/2010, 8:35 AM
Brashlight- I would fart out rainbows of unadulterated joy if it did happen. As you said, we can always dream.

Superman4- No he'd definitely chose GL over Deadpool. The GL trilogy is already thought of, while the first Deadpool film isn't even ready to shoot. Ryan needs to pay the bills, bud.

Mass- Oh.. uh... yeah. What movie.

CadeWilson- Yeah but... that only 2 CBMs, you're not thinking of all the other shit he's slated for like R.I.P.D. and other rom coms. The man can't commit to everything under the sun.
GLFanboy
GLFanboy - 8/12/2010, 8:35 AM
@ThaMessenger Not to keep harping on this point but Disney DOES do R. The relationship between Disney and Marvel is the same as what they had with Miramax. Pulp Fiction is among MANY other R rated films Miramax made while owned by Disney.
Just saying.
