Ryan Reynolds On Leaked DEADPOOL Test Footage

Just over a month ago the test footage for a potential Deadpool film finally leaked online and people went nuts for it. Now, the Green Lantern star Ryan Reynolds is commenting on the leak.

Back in 2012, director Tim Miller shot some Deadpool test footage to help convince 20th Century Fox that the character, tone and costume could work as a feature film. This was a pitch that was required after the character was unfavorably treated in Gavin Hood's X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The footage finally found its way onto the internet just over a month ago and the reaction was extremely positive. Possibly giving the film a shot of being made one day. Now, the star  Ryan Reynolds ("Green Latern"), who performed Deadpool's voice work and the motion-capture performance, comments on the reaction to the leaked footage.

"The movie has been in a state of limbo for a while. There was such an overpowering reaction to the footage, you sort of feel like, 'Oh, so we weren't crazy for our reasons for loving this character, for loving this role.' It's interesting to see the power of the Internet. It's awe-inspiring, actually," Reynolds told the Niagara Falls Review"And it's neat that Twitter and Facebook and Instagram can move mountains when used in the right way."

Loved the test footage. Keep it CGI and make it rated R. People know Ryan Reynolds voice so the recognition will be there. An over the top adult type cartoon would be a big draw.I just don't see what's wrong with keeping the movie like the test footage instead of live action.

54,119 (The number of retweets) x $8.33 (The average price of a movie ticket)
= $451,477

Well, with these numbers, I can see the hesitation on the studio's part.

It's a good clip, but I wonder how well that pace could last for a 90 minute movie. At a certain point, it would be bordering on Jim Carrey-level of irritating.

Deadpool would probably be a better supporting character for an X-Force movie and his solo stuff should be limited to Marvel-style one-shot short films. Also, I sort of don't want Reynolds involved with it because he's a crybaby bitch that dropped a deuce on Green Lantern when it bombed like he was somehow a victim of that movie sucking instead of a cause.

In fact... I can't think of any Ryan Reynolds movie that didn't suck. It seems like everything he's ever been involved in was the worst version of whatever that thing is. The worst X-Men movie, the worst Blade movie, the worst DC movie (okay no, that was Jonah Hex...)...

Actually, I liked Smokin' Aces and Reynolds was good in that, so I guess he's not batting a perfect .000.

This movie deserves to be made more than a lot of ones that are actually coming our way. Along with Hellboy 3 and Dredd 2.
