D23 took place in Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando, Florida, this past weekend, and among the many exciting announcements was the reveal of a stunning new Disney Legacy Animated Film Collection.

As we first reported on Toonado.com, it features 100 animated films on Blu-ray from Disney, Walt Disney Animation Studios, and Pixar. The discs are collected in a gorgeous hardbound, self-standing three-volume set that unfolds into your own storybook (literally!).

Also included are digital codes for each movie, an original theatrical poster art, a collectable lithograph from Disney Animation's all-new musical comedy Wish, and a collectable crystal Mickey ears hat with exclusive Disney 100 engraving. As you might expect, this won't be cheap, though we're sure it will be an essential purchase for Disney fans.

Quantities are going to be limited and the set will be available for pre-order only on Walmart.com starting September 18, with each copy including a numbered certificate of authenticity. Select Pixar titles will also include a bonus disc of extras.

You can take a look at a trailer and product shots for the Disney Legacy Animated Film Collection below along with the full list of all 100 movies you'll be able to fall in love with all over again...

It’s the only way to get anybody to buy Strange World and Elemental.

Also, a chronology of the decline of Disney animated films.

@TyrantBossMedia - It's crazy how everything on the list is good to great all the way up until number 92 (Onward) and then everything after that sucks.

@TyrantBossMedia - I had the same thought when I saw those on the list! LOL

@CorndogBurglar - Luca and Encanto are great

TyrantBossMedia - 9/11/2023, 10:47 AM
@Evansly - I wouldn't call Encanto great. It was a messy story and the songbook was terrible.

Onward was the last good animated film they made.

That's gunna no for me, out of those 100, there's only 10 I actually legit care about (Robin Hood, The Black Cauldron, Nightmare Before Christmas, Atlantis, Treasure Planet, Wall-E, Moana, Coco, Encanto, Turning Red)

@KaptainKhaos - I like all the ones you mentioned, but you really don’t care about fantasia, Pinocchio, Toy Story, or anything else on this list. I won’t buy this set but it is comprised of many INCREDIBLE animated films

Wait, I thought Snow White was bad and wrong and unfit for MODERN AUDIENCES, and that's why Disney was determined to Wokify it with THE MESSAGE???

How dare they include that terrible film in this collection!!!

Josh really thinks everyone will “fall in love” with this massive boxset? The dude clearly gobbles up any and everything that Disney releases. While many of these are awesome, reading over the lists it’s reminder of how far they’ve fallen when they started prioritizing sociopolitical messages.

I think most people would rather pick and choose the movies they want, than buy a massive 100 movie collection.

Probably just leeches off the promise of interactions/clicks getting him money. Disney is more controversial due to the declining brand and quality of the products they make, let alone how poorly they treat staff and customers.

Disney themselves have been shit-talking their animated films and legacy, labeling people who enjoyed it as racist, sexists and outdated and now expects them to buy a legacy collection? LMFAO.

The actors and actresses are given aspects to discuss and relay via Disney. You can find examples of that yourself, each time they do a remake they remark on how bad the previous one is. It's actively trashing what they did so they can claim the remake is better as its more suited for modern audiences and 'fixes' the original, yet then they peddle the original films as a legacy collection?

The most prominent is the recent Snow White drama, in which Disney have encouraged actresses to tell fans that the original film was outdated being a product of its time (1937), that it's sexist, that Snow White shouldn't be motivated by love, that the Evil Queen shouldn't be motivated by beauty standards, that the Dwarves were offensive, that the Prince was a stalker, etc...

Previously Disney told stories of following your heart, morals and lifelong lessons of friendship and compassion. Nowadays its telling you that you shouldn't want to fall in love or be happy, you should want to focus entirely on your career. Snow White in the remake as such is motivated by "becoming the Queen and the ruler she's always known she could be"

"The original cartoon came out in 1937, and very evidently so," - dismissing the original due to age and implying the original is outdated.

"There is a big focus on her love story, with a guy who literally stalks her. Weird! So we didn’t do that this time." - dismissing the role of the prince as being an evil stalker

"It’s really not about the love story at all, which is really, really wonderful," - dismissing the concept of a love story at all, actively liking that this version won't be a love story

"all of Andrew’s scenes could get cut, who knows?" - referring to the Prince

"She's not going to get saved by the Prince" - actively removing part of the original story

@dragon316 - Boo hoo, try not to cry when Splash Mountain is replaced with the far superior Princess and the Frog theme

Matador - 9/11/2023, 9:37 AM
@dragon316 - Song of the South is not fully animated it's live action with animation along the lines of Pete's Dragon & Roger Rabbit this only for Animated films.

So who knows they might make a live action plus animated film collection.
