With all of the properties now under Disney's umbrella, it's hard to keep track of everything owned by the House of Mouse. Thankfully, the company has released a preview of its 2018 film slate, complete with release dates, synopses, and first look images.

From Marvel to Lucasfilm to Pixar to Disney Animation, there's certainly no shortage of highly-anticipated films, and surely some box office hits, coming from these talented studios. 2018 is jam-packed with blockbuster films, including Black Panther, Avengers: Infinity War, Solo: A Star Wars Story, The Incredibles 2, Wreck-It Ralph 2, Ant-Man and The Wasp, and more.

Black Panther - February 16, 2018



Marvel Studios' "Black Panther" follows T'Challa who, after the death of his father, the King of Wakanda, returns home to the isolated, technologically advanced African nation to succeed to the throne and take his rightful place as king. But when a powerful old enemy reappears, T'Challa's mettle as king - and Black Panther - is tested when he is drawn into a formidable conflict that puts the fate of Wakanda and the entire world at risk. Faced with treachery and danger, the young king must rally his allies and release the full power of Black Panther to defeat his foes and secure the safety of his people and their way of life.

A Wrinkle In Time - March 9, 2018



Meg Murry is a typical middle school student struggling with issues of self-worth who is desperate to fit in. As the daughter of two world-renowned physicists, she is intelligent and uniquely gifted, as is Meg's younger brother Charles Wallace, but she has yet to realize it for herself. Making matters even worse is the baffling disappearance of Mr. Murry, which torments Meg and has left her mother (Gugu Mbatha-Raw) heartbroken. Charles Wallace introduces Meg and her fellow classmate Calvin (Levi Miller) to three celestial guides-Mrs. Which, Mrs. Whatsit and Mrs. Who  -who have journeyed to Earth to help search for their father, and together they set off on their formidable quest. Traveling via a wrinkling of time and space known as tessering, they are soon transported to worlds beyond their imagination where they must confront a powerful evil. To make it back home to Earth, Meg must look deep within herself and embrace her flaws to harness the strength necessary to defeat the darkness closing in on them.

Avengers: Infinity War - May 4, 2018

Disney's Christopher Robin - August 3, 2018



In the heartwarming live action adventure "Disney's Christopher Robin," the young boy who loved embarking on adventures in the Hundred Acre Wood with a band of spirited and lovable stuffed animals, has grown up and lost his way. Now it is up to his childhood friends to venture into our world and help Christopher Robin remember the loving and playful boy who is still inside.


The Nutcracker and the Four Realms - November 2, 2018




All Clara (Mackenzie Foy) wants is a key - a one-of-a-kind key that will unlock a box that holds a priceless gift from her late mother. A golden thread, presented to her at godfather Drosselmeyer's (Morgan Freeman) annual holiday party, leads her to the coveted key, which promptly disappears into a strange and mysterious parallel world. It's there that Clara encounters a soldier named Phillip (Jayden Fowora-Knight), a gang of mice and the regents who preside over three Realms: Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers and Land of Sweets. Clara and Phillip must brave the ominous Fourth Realm, home to the tyrant Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), to retrieve Clara's key and hopefully return harmony to the unstable world.

Disney will probably have a few more bombs this year but they can afford to have box office blunders and still are the highest grossing studio most of the time.

I think that's why I kinda like Disney for all the hate they get (and rightly deserve). They're not just content with making the movies they know will make money. Every now and again they'll make a John Carter or a Lone Ranger and risk a lot of money.

Lone Ranger is pretty great too.

Disney is going to rock this year! Some speculation on BO:

BP - $800 million WW
IW - $1.5 billion WW
Solo - $700 million WW
The Incredibles 2 - $700 million WW
Wreck-it-Wralph 2 - $400 million WW
Ant-Man and the Wasp - $800 million WW (riding off IW)
Mary Poppins - $500 million WW

Total WW BO for Disney 2018: $5.4 billion

And all of this is excluding the Fox films this year.
