Emma Watson To Star In Guillermo Del Toro's Beauty And The Beast?

The lovely Harry Potter actress seems to have found her next project. It seems that after Pacific Rim Del Toro will be turning his attention to an adap of the classic tale and Watson is lined up to star.

We have already seen quite a few adaptations(Live action, animated, comics, plays) and variations on the classic story of Beauty And The Beast. Now we seem to be in line for another, but with CBM favorite Guillermo Del Toro at the helm and Emma Watson being looked at to star..

From Coming Soon..

Producer Denise Di Novi told ComingSoon.net at that film's New York junket today that she's developing an adaptation of Beauty and the Beast alongside del Toro and that Emma Watson is lined up to star.

The pic(from Whatculture.com) shows Watson along side Beast from the 80s tv series. He was played by Ron Pearlman, who of course started as Hellboy in Del Toro's movies of the same name. Not too much is known about the project thus far, but it is believed that the picture will retain the original setting and period rather than update the story like the recent shit fest, Beastly. Even so I question whether yet another version of the story is needed in any way, shape or form by any director. But I'll certainly reserve my criticisms until I hear a bit more about it. What do you guys think?

George RR Martin, author of Game of Thrones, wrote a lot of the Beauty and the Beast episodes.

@GDSuperguy - Hot might not be the word you would use but if you don't think she's easy on the eyes I suggest an eye exam.

Will we actually see this one? Or will it go the way of Frankenstien, Godzilla, The Hobbit, At The Mountains of Madness, Hellboy 3, Heavy Metal, Harry Potter, Hulk, Dr. Strange and countless others that I'm sure I'm forgetting.
Pacific Rim is the only one he didn't want to do and that will be his first film in a long time.
Hollywood should stop cock-blocking one of our greatest filmmakers and visionary auters.

@DukeAcureds you do realise that although the guys busy as hell majority of the projects you named he's just producing not actually directing it.

@Hellsing
He might be producing one or two of them, now, but with the exceptions of Godzilla (which I think was mostly rumour) and Hulk (which was a series that he would have produced and directed the pilot for and which might actually still happen), he was going to direct every single one of the films I listed. And many more.

LMFAO!!! @teabag! lol that was great! Hilarious!

I love Beauty and the Beast! My third all time favorite Disney classic.

I actually like Emma Watson, she has that natural beauty unlike 99% of the actresses in Hollywood who look like conceded whores.

I actually hope this film is made and she'll be officially on board. I was always curious to see how the Beast would look in real life. Seeing a girl actually fall in love with him would be some crazy shit.

Disney did it the right way, everything was perfect! They better make it dark and gritty just like the animated film and rate it PG-13! This movie has too much potential to be aimed at children.

BRING IT ON DEL TORO!!!
