Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment has officially announced that Jaume Collet-Serra's Jungle Cruise will be arriving on Digital earlier than expected on August 31, following a month-long stay in theaters and on Disney+ Premier Access.
The film stars Emily Blunt (Edge of Tomorrow; A Quiet Place) and Dwayne Johnson (Hobbs & Shaw; Red Notice) in the lead roles, and thanks to a positive audience reception, has performed relatively well this summer, grossing over $154.3 million worldwide to date. Though it still has a ways to go if the studio wants to break even on the film's $200 million-plus production budget - a fact that may have played a part in its early digital launch.
In addition to Johnson and Blunt, the supporting cast features Edgar Ramírez (American Crime Story; The Undoing), Jack Whitehall (Bad Education; Bounty Hunters), 2x Primetime Emmy-nominee Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights; Fargo), and Academy Award-nominee Paul Giamatti (The Amazing Spider-Man 2; Billions).
The home video release will come with plenty of awesome bonus features, including a special expedition mode, four featurettes including one that centers on the lead duo's electric chemistry, a hilarious gag reel, and eleven deleted scenes!
