The Jungle Book, a classic story that has been adapted many times is soon to receive a live action adaptation directed by none other than Jon Favreau (Iron Man 1 & 2). It has been announced today actor Idris Elba will voice the menacing tiger Shere Khan in the live action/CGI film. He would not only provide the voice but a performance aka motion capture. Disney is moving ahead quickly with the project so expect it to appear sometime soon as no release date has been announced yet. The film also boasts an impressive creative team including David Lowery who worked on Iron Man and Alex McDowell who worked as a production designer with the film Man of Steel.

Idris Elba is in final negotiations to perform the role and provide the voice of the killer tiger Shere Khan in Disney’s live-action take on The Jungle Book. How many times will Disney make another Jungle Book movie. I know for sure they have done two. One was the famous cartoon then a live action one. Now another live action one. I guess the difference between this version and the other one is this time the animals will talk and they won't be real animals.

Idris is awesome though. But I still would have liked to have seen Disney do something new. That being said Idris will make for a killer tiger.

Wasnt there already a live action version with Jason Scott Lee?

Either way Elba is an awesome choice to voice Shere Khan :]

I can't wait to hear him tell Mowgli "One, don't EVER touch me again. Two, don't EVER touch me again!"

Other than that, I don't think that I'll be seeing this as I was never a fan of the Jungle Book.
