Arguably the most shocking moment in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness came when The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) dispatched Professor Xavier (Sir Patrick Stewart) when he entered her mind, and some newly-released concept art spotlights that terrifying scene.

Artist Alexander Mandradjiev has shared some of his designs for the sequence, as The Illuminati member attempts to rescue Earth-838 Wanda, who is trapped beneath some rubble in her 616 counterpart's mind.

As Xavier reaches for Wanda's hand, a demonic-looking Scarlet Witch approaches. Of course, we know Xavier is unsuccessful, as the ruthless magic-wielder is able to sneak up on the X-Men leader by using red smoke as cover, tearing his head in half in brutal fashion!

Check out the artwork below.

Whether Stewart will return as Professor X again remains to be seen, but Marvel Studios will almost certainly recast the character for the planned X-Men reboot.
