It's surprisingly easy to find Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness plot leaks floating around online, and the latest trailer actually confirmed the validity of many of them. There's a fair bit we don't know, though, including the changes and surprises from those extensive reshoots last year.
While we'd assumed that America Chavez was responsible for the trip she takes through the Multiverse alongside the MCU's former Sorcerer Supreme, a product description contradicts that theory.
"Stop the hands of time to capture this Marvel Doctor Strange Multiverse Mini Backpack," it reads. "On the front zipped compartment, Doctor Strange reaches through The Eye of Agamotto, harnessing the power of the Time Stone to break through dimensions." Wait, the Time Stone? That was destroyed by Thanos in Avengers: Endgame and is no longer in Stephen's possession.
However, what if it's a Variant's Time Stone? There are rumours (and we're getting into spoilers here) that the MCU's Strange won't be the first version of the hero America turns to help from and that she arrives in this world with the dead Defender Strange. It's possible Stephen will make use of that because something goes wrong with the teenager's powers or she can't fully control them.
We're certainly intrigued to find out more, but the Doctor Strange sequel is still months way from arriving on the big screen. It had been scheduled for a March release before another delay, so there's no other choice than to be patient as Marvel Studios continues to drip feed us new hints and teases!
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released in theaters on May 6.
