DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Promo Art Highlights Wong's New Sorcerer Supreme Costume

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness promo art (from an upcoming Marvel Legends action figure) has revealed a much closer look at Wong's new costume now that he's the MCU's Sorcerer Supreme...

Benedict Wong's Wong has become a huge fan-favourite since first debuting in 2016's Doctor Strange, hence why we're starting to see more and more of the hero in the MCU.

He recently had cameo roles in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings and Spider-Man: No Way Home, and is rumoured to have an important part in She-Hulk as well. Before we get to any of that, though, the new Sorcerer Supreme will be back in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The latest Spider-Man movie confirmed that the title now belongs to Wong, while merchandise for this sequel is even labelling shots of him and Strange as "Doctor Strange and the Sorcerer Supreme." It's quite the turnaround to see Wong given the spotlight like this, but we're definitely not complaining (especially with an actor as talented as Wong playing the character).

As the first Marvel Studios movie of 2022, we're expecting to see a lot from Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness over the coming weeks, with Wong no doubt placed front and centre alongside Strange, the Scarlet Witch, and America Chavez. Oh, and for those of you complaining about Wong taking Strange's old job, he's a far more experienced sorcerer and protected the world for those five years Stephen was dusted along with half the universe! Wong has earned it.

Anyway, you can take a closer look at Wong's updated MCU costume below thanks to new promo art.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released on May 6.

Makes even more sense now why Wong was the one who came to Shang Chi during the post credits scene. Him being the person connecting with Banner and Danvers instead of Strange seemed a bit odd given that Strange was the Sorcerer Supreme, but Wong was the SS the whole time

Of course, it now makes even less sense that Wong was in there doing exhibition fights with Abonimation if he was supposed to be Sorcerer Supreme by then (I'm assuming he becomes SS because Strange was dead for 5 years and they needed someone to fill the role), but then again even in Infinity War it was obvious that being the head honcho of defending this realm didn't come with any Per Diem for Strange anyway, so maybe Wong really needed the money
