DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS: [SPOILER] Finally Confirms Their Involvement

We're still treating this as a spoiler for the time being just in case, but a certain actor has now confirmed that they did appear in the recent trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

Though he made a valiant effort to deny his involvement in previous interviews, Sir Patrick Stewart now seems to be fully aware that pretty much everyone realized that he made an appearance in the recent trailer for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, and has finally confirmed that he's set to reprise the role of Charles Xavier in the Marvel Studios sequel.

While speaking to Jakes Takes, Stewart gave up on all pretences and spoke openly about fans' reaction to spotting him in the teaser.

“Well, I had my phone turned off as it happened, so I didn’t hear anything. It wasn’t until the next morning when I woke up and looked at my phone and found that I had been bombarded with responses and that my PR people had sent me reactions that they had detailed and passed onto me. I actually didn’t recognize my own voice, it sounded different. Whether I had a cold or something at the time, I don’t know. But I was astonished, and all they saw was the back of my shoulder, and I think my earlobe, nothing else. There would have been so many connections made. But, uh, it pleased me.”

As far as we know, Professor X will be a member of a Multiversal Illuminati along with several other characters (you'll have to look 'em up!). Whether he'll remain on board as the MCU's take on the iconic X-Men leader remains to be seen, but there's a good chance a younger actor will be cast once Marvel Studios begins working on that reboot.

In Marvel Studios’ Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stühlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. The film is directed by Sam Raimi, and Kevin Feige is the producer. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Eric Hauserman Carroll and Jamie Christopher serve as executive producers. The screenplay was written by Michael Waldron.

The Doctor Strange sequel releases in U.S. theaters on May 6, 2022.

@JohnnyTBP - I remember in the 90s when these modern Marvel films were but a dream. Wizard always had those casting ideas in their issues and Prof.X has always been him.

@Fogs - I don't remember many of the castings, but I definitely remember Patrick Stewart as Xavier and Clint Eastwood as Cable.

I don't think there's a point in hiding it anymore, Marvel themselves put that in the trailer.

I wonder if Marvel was just like go ahead and tell everybody or he was just like "fam I'm not about to keep lying. I'm Patrick Stewart bitch. Do something"

Even though I hope the multiverse stuff passes sooner rather than later, it's cool to see icons of other franchises interact. This is something many people wanted so its kind of like a last hoorah for these guys.

@MyCoolYoung - The multiverse ain't going no where... its the new norm.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 2/28/2022, 7:44 PM
@JonC - I can see a war for the multiverse like the Kang's did to merge the multiverses or end the norm
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 3/1/2022, 5:53 AM
@JonC - It's the new norm for now. Just like the Infinity Saga was the norm for 10 years. It'll pass, but it will be a long while. Once Kang is defeated and a Secret Wars-ish movie happens, the multiverse will be fixed.

Hopefully it doesn't take 10 years for that to happen...

Why end a good thing. Him in the role is perfect casting.
ShimmyShimmyYA
ShimmyShimmyYA - 2/28/2022, 6:22 PM
@ModHaterSLADE - because he’s 81 and I’m sure marvel doesn’t want to run the risk of another mainstay character / actor dying before the character run is over

RIP Chadwick

@ModHaterSLADE - he's only introducing the character to MCU fans... and the foxverse which Marvel will likely get as much out of as they can... for when they start casting their own MCU variants of the Foxverse characters. Some of those Foxverse actors that are young enough may make the jump to the MCU... like Macavoy or Fasbender, etc.
ModHaterSLADE
ModHaterSLADE - 2/28/2022, 7:13 PM
@ShimmyShimmyYA - Obviously for this movie its not a big deal since he's still around. Besides, not like it's a new X-Men movie anyway...
ModHaterSLADE
ModHaterSLADE - 2/28/2022, 7:15 PM
@JonC - Agreed, which is why in this context it makes sense to keep him in the role for this particular movie hence my comment.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 3/1/2022, 5:55 AM
@JonC - I hope not. I would prefer all new actors for X-Men. The ONLY Exception would be Fasbender, because he's just too damn good as Magneto.

I love those people.

TheHumanSpider2

I think they should just show him in the final trailer, and keep Tom Cruise, Ioan Gruffudd, and Singer's X-Men as the big surprise for the movie.

Guess the snipers gave him a pass. Guess they know they can't force everyone to deny they're in an upcoming movie. Would else set false expectations, and more importantly feed (online) harassment

@bkmeijer - he already got hit by a sniper... hence the wheelchair
