RUMOR MILL: DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS Will Bring Chris Evans Back In Two Surprising Roles

This is one of the crazier rumors we've shared here, but if a new story is to be believed, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will see Chris Evans return to the MCU to play two characters!

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness has been the subject of many rumors lately, whether it's Tom Cruise suiting up as Iron Man or Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme teaming up with Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man. Recently, Variety reported on plans for Chris Evans to return to the MCU, and Giant Freaking Robot claims to know which two roles the actor will play.

Yes, you read that correctly: two!

According to the site, which reported on Don Cheadle's The Falcon and The Winter Soldier role before the actor himself confirmed the news, Evans will return as Captain America in the Doctor Strange sequel. However, he'll reportedly be playing the "Captain HYDRA" version of Steve Rogers from the Secret Empire storyline, something we've heard rumored on several occasions from a few different sites.

It would be pretty nuts seeing Evans as a villainous Captain America, but what about that second role?

Believe it or not, this rumor states that he'll don his old Fantastic Four uniform to play the Human Torch again. That's a bonkers idea, but it might be fun to return to that world ahead of the MCU reboot.

This should definitely be taken with a grain of salt for the time being. It would certainly be an interesting use of Evans in the MCU, though, and in some ways, makes more sense than having him return as Cap. His story has, after all, reached its end following the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame

@Spike101 - Yeah I remember when we were supposed to get kryptonite armored lex luthor in bvs and Red Hulk in AoU. The toys came out but none it made it to the actual film. I'll believe it when it comes out like Joaquin Phoenix's Joker or Tom Hardy's Venom.

He auditioned for Spiderman, could make for a good cameo to have him and Jake Gyllenhaal to show up in Spiderverse as two other spider men.

You know with all the rumors. How about bringing in Josh Keaton to play a Spiderman in live action. While he is mainly a voice actor, he does do live action work and he is the best spiderman. Just a cameo

@dracula - he really is the best Spider-Man

How long until there are rumors of Dolph Lundgren's Punisher coming back?
dracula

@FinnishDude - Right after the rumor of the Roger Coreman Fantastic Four cast returning (it is the best fantastic four movie so far)
FinnishDude
FinnishDude - 2/9/2021, 2:48 AM
@dracula - The fact that it isn't just the best one, but by a landslide is just so depressing. Hopefully Feige and Watts will fix that.

@TheManWithoutFear - Chiklis and Evans were about the only good things in those movies, but they were great, especially in scenes together.

Captain Hydra would be an excellent villain for a second season of Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Captain Hydra and the return of old Rogers.
connorblaze
connorblaze - 2/9/2021, 4:12 AM
@Repian - just when I thought comics couldn’t get sillier. Imagine being that skilled an artist, creating an artwork that’s supposed to be that dramatic, and then giving the villain the Marvel high tech equivelant of a Borat mankini. With 100% seriousness and no hint of irony or humour.
connorblaze
connorblaze - 2/9/2021, 4:13 AM
@connorblaze - i mean seriously, look at how much the artist has bunched those [frick]ers up around his junk. Surely this had to be an inside joke that somehow made it to print right? He looks ridiculous. Comics, man.

Bring back my man the cloud.

elgaz
elgaz - 2/9/2021, 3:45 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - His career really tanked after Green Lantern, went full method and wore yellow everywhere but figured the laughs and jeers were worth it for the movie's success. Took it badly when the film spluttered and died. Movie roles dried up and he resorted to weather commercials and National Geographic photo ops to put food on the table. Sits in his room most days now watching reruns of his early performance in Lost, wondering where it all went wrong but optimistic that his big comeback is just round the corner.
connorblaze
connorblaze - 2/9/2021, 4:19 AM
@MosquitoFarmer - only part of those movies I liked. I got it. A great cosmic cloud (have you seen space? Its an epic mindblowing collection of bright cosmic clouds) is scarier than a giant purple man walking about space with a silly helmet trying to gobble up the planet. I mean we know now you can adapt it to be less ridiculous, like Dormammu, but I’ve never blamed the team who took one look at Galactus and said “that’s [frick]ing ridiculous, we’ll make it a primal cosmic force instead and use it as a plot device for Silver Surfer’s story, rather than trying to pull off a giant purple bloke in space. I don’t blame em a bit.

@elgaz - I'm glad "someone" kept track of his career.
