The last time we saw Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch, she had broken bad in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and seemingly buried herself beneath Wundagore Mountain. Eagle-eyed fans spotted a flash of red light before that collapsed, suggesting Wanda Maximoff has escaped to parts unknown.
Destroying every copy of the Darkhold across the Multiverse went some way in redeeming the Avenger, and fans are eager to see the character again.
During a recent appearance on The Today Show, Olsen was asked whether she's plotting an MCU return. Unfortunately, she didn't provide the definitive update many of you will have been hoping for. "It’s a hard question for me to answer," the actress started, "because I feel like my words are always twisted every time I answer it."
"I hope so, but I have no idea. When I say that, it’s not because I have a loaded answer. It’s because I say, ‘Yes, I hope so,’ and I mean it at face value."
Adding that she has "absolutely not" started shooting anything and confirming she hasn't seen any scripts, Olsen would conclude by pointing out that, "There's no contract." This actually lines up with past comments the actress made revealing that she now signs an extension every time Marvel Studios wants her to do a new movie or TV show.
Common sense says the Scarlet Witch will be a big part of Avengers: The Kang Dynasty and Avengers: Secret Wars, though there's a chance she'll appear in Agatha: Coven of Chaos as well.
Hopefully, we'll have a more definitive update to share with you soon.
