Rumor: Adrien Brody In Talks For Dr Strange?

Rumor: Adrien Brody In Talks For Dr Strange?

We now know it wasn't Ant-Man he was up for, but could it have been the Master Of The Mystic Arts instead?...

We ran a story a couple of weeks ago about Brody possibly being in talks to star as Hank Pym in Edgar Wright's Ant-Man movie. The reports came from several credible sources, but turned out to be untrue. But its entirely possible of course that Brody may have had meetings with someone at Marvel considering the various inside sources that originated the story. Could it have been for Dr Strange? Avengersnews think so..

A source of ours is telling us that Adrien Brody is very close to signing a deal with Marvel that could see him playing either Ant-Man or Dr. Strange. Now, this isn't the first time that we've heard his name and Ant-Man's in the same sentence. Other sites have reported that before. What we're being told is that we might hear an announcement about one of these characters soon. Stay tuned.

Well Edgar Wright has debunked the Ant-Man rumor himself, but could the Dr Strange one hold any validity? Avengersnews have ran some stories long before anyone else that ultimately turned out to be on the money, the various casting stories for Alice Eve and Kevin Pennington for example. But of course, this is a very sketchy bit of info with no other source to back it up. Its also unlikely that they would be on the lookout for an actor before they even have a director on board, but ya never know. For now, don't read too much into it. Confirm or debunk below.

I actually thought The Ninth Gate was a pile of poo! I guess Depp was ok in though, I mean he;'s never bad. I would be fine with Brody as Strange although I would also prefer Depp.

No to Depp. Depp is so overrated. He doesn't act so much as he just plays outrageous random caricatures.

Not bad, he might be able to do it. But I think there are better choices out there. Clive Owen would be great IMO.

Has anybody here stopped for just a minute, to think about how big Ant Mans helmet would have to be to wrap around that snoz? ;D

He would be a great Dr. Strange if they could CGI out a couple feet of his nose.

He is a fantastic actor.

u guys need to remember Johnny Depp is too expensive Marvel Studio want actors that are abit less cheaper. if Adrien Brody been casted as Dr Strange i can deal with it the guy had a interesting year so far with Predators and Splice.

I would be fine with Brody as Doctor Strange. He is a good actor and would do the role well, he is a actor and not a star who would overshadow the character. I would like him or Patrick Dempsey to be Doctor Strange. (I would also like Brody to be Mr. Fantastic). While this is just a rumor, I am holding out hope.

Johnny Depp is a great actor but I don't see him as Doctor Strange, it's to typicall for him, he has played similar roles to this and would want to do something diffrent. I could see Depp maybe playing something like Jor-El in another Superman movie.

Now they just need a director. Guillermo Del Toro is the popular choice but like I said, he has already done 2 diffrent superheroes (Hellboy & Blade) and I would like to see another directors take on a superhero movie. Other directors can do it and Del Toro could do so much more. I would like to see Baz Lurhmann (Moulin Rouge, Romeo+Juliet, Australlia) direct because he has a great visual eye and his films have a bit of mystic and magic to them, as well as epic fells to them.

Brody is a good actor...not sure if he is good for Strange but I really wanna see this movie made, if he sucks hopefully he won't drag the movie down to the point where they wouldn't do a sequel just re-cast.

I vote for Brody. He wouldn't be a good choice foe superbs like Superman, but is a great fit for this role.

Brody would own this role! This guy hasn't come close to his peak yet. Depp would take away from the role with his persona, add to the fact that Marvel would want to tie him down for sequels, and crossovers. I'd choose Brody over anyone else out there.

Johnny Depp.

Dean Corso returns through the Ninth Gate, with mystical powers from Hell, and becomes Dr Strange.

Using someone like Johnny Depp, would keep in line with other great marvel character acters; older, experienced, and serious; like Robert Downey Jr., Mickey Rourke, Samuel L. Jackson, Edward Norton, Anthony Hopkins, Gwyneth Paltro, Hugo Weaving, etc. I dont like using younger, one dimensional, actors like Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, etc.
