DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS: [SPOILER]'s Shocking Demise Was Kevin Feige's Idea

One character death in Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness proved to be particularly shocking for fans, and it's now come to light that Kevin Feige was behind the elaborate demise.

We're still being careful about spoilers just in case some of you haven't had the chance to see the movie yet.

Sam Raimi's Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness introduced an alternate-reality take on The Illuminati... only to kill most of the team's members off a few minutes later when a vengeful Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) arrived on the scene.

Black Bolt's (Anson Mount) death was arguably the most violent, but the elaborate, surprisingly sadistic way in which Wanda went about dispatching Reed Richards (John Krasinski) proved to be more shocking - especially for Fantastic Four fans who had been hoping to see the A Quiet Place star stay on as Mr. Fantastic moving forward.

During an interview with Before and Afters, VFX supervisor Julian Foddy revealed that the inspiration for Richards' "shredding" came directly from Marvel Studios' head honcho, Kevin Feige.

"The starting point there was some reference that was passed to us by Janek Sirrs directly from Kevin Feige," he said. "It was someone passing a lump of modeling clay or Play-doh through a garlic press. Janek also had some reference of the Play-doh 'Barber Shop' toy, which was a little figure with holes in the head and you'd turn a handle and the Play-doh would come out. That was the kind of look we were going for."

It's probably fair to say the sequence had the desired effect, anyway!

Raimi recently confirmed that Krasinski's casting was pure fan-service, so we're not sure the actor will return for the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot. It would be a shame if he didn't get to reprise the role, but for all we know, Krasinski may have only agreed to play the character for this one appearance.

Would you like to see John Krasinski play the 616 Universe's version of Mr. Fantastic, or do you have someone else in mind? Drop us a comment down below.
