Eternals star Lia McHugh (Sprite) recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo which hinted that Harry Styles' Eros was originally going to appear in more than just the movie's post-credits scene, and it looks like Kit Harington's Dane Whitman was also going to have a slightly larger role.
McHugh has now posted some more snaps to Instagram, and one of them is a shot from the monitor featuring the young actress alongside Harington and director Chloé Zhao.
Harington filmed most of his scenes with McHugh and Gemma Chan (Sersi) in the first act, but it looks like an additional sequence involving Whitman and Sprite taking in an exhibit at the Natural History Museum was shot before ultimately being cut from the theatrical release of the movie. We can't imagine it was anything too significant, but more of this character would definitely have been appreciated, so hopefully it ends up as a deleted scene on the Blu-ray.
Marvel Studios’ Eternals follows a group of heroes from beyond the stars who had protected the Earth since the dawn of man. When monstrous creatures called the Deviants, long thought lost to history, mysteriously return, the Eternals are forced to reunite in order to defend humanity once again.
The outstanding ensemble cast includes Gemma Chan as humankind-loving Sersi, Richard Madden as the all-powerful Ikaris, Kumail Nanjiani as cosmic-powered Kingo, Lia McHugh as the eternally young, old-soul Sprite, Brian Tyree Henry as the intelligent inventor Phastos, Lauren Ridloff as the super-fast Makkari, Barry Keoghan as aloof loner Druig, Don Lee as the powerful Gilgamesh, with Kit Harington as Dane Whitman, with Salma Hayek as the wise and spiritual leader Ajak, and Angelina Jolie as the fierce warrior Thena.
