In Eternals' mid-credits scene, Thena, Druig, and Makkari are on board the Domo when they're surprised by the unexpected arrival of Starfox and Pip the Troll. However, Entertainment Weekly has now revealed that an even longer version of this sequence was shot with Eros interrupting the team while they were in the midst of communicating with the Celestial Arishem.
That wouldn't have made much sense as he'd have likely taken them for judgement as he did Sersi, Kingo, and Phastos, and this could be an indication that the story changed a little with additional photography (it might also explain why the VFX for Pip the Troll was among the weakest we've seen from Marvel Studios).
The cast, though, definitely enjoyed the time they spent working with actor Harry Styles.
"He arrived, and he was just like part of us, immediately," Ajak actress Salma Hayek says. Lauren Ridloff, meanwhile, shared her own positive experience with Styles while shooting the scene.
"Chloe would say, 'Cut,' and every time she yelled, 'Cut,' the interpreter would have to run around and tap me on the shoulder," the actress recalls. "So after a couple times, Harry was just like, 'Is it okay if I just tap you and cue you when we stop shooting? I was like, 'Yeah, thank you!' That's just who Harry is: He just watches out, and he thinks: 'What can I do?'"
Marvel Studios no doubt has big plans for Styles in the MCU following the events of Eternals, and this scene definitely set the stage for him to play a key role in where the story of these immortal heroes goes next. Starfox is a fun character, too, and one with lots of potential in his own right.
Eternals is now playing in theaters!
