Has STRANGER THINGS Star Millie Bobby Brown Joined The Cast Of Marvel's ETERNALS After All?

A rumor recently did the rounds which claimed that Millie Bobby Brown (Stranger Things, Godzilla: King of the Monsters) was in line for a role in Marvel's Eternals, and now a trade may have confirmed it...

Despite Kevin Feige seemingly debunking the rumor in a recent interview, it looks like Millie Bobby Brown may have joined the cast of Marvel's The Eternals after all.

In Variety's report on what to expect from Marvel at this year's SDCC, the trade mentions that Brown will star in the Chloé Zhao-directed film alongside the likes of Salma Hayek, Angelina Jolie, Richard Madden and Kumail Nanjiani.

It's a throwaway reveal with no accompanying details, which may suggest that the writer simply heard the rumor and assumed it was official casting news - although it would be unlike Variety to be so careless. If it was an error, expect an update pretty soon. If not, it looks like The Eternals has added yet another heavy hitter to its already very impressive cast.

The Eternals hasn't been given an official release date just yet, but it is expected to commence production later this year.

Despite Kevin Feige seemingly debunking the rumor

Come on, Feige don't confirm or deny anything. He's a Magic 8-Ball forever stuck on "Reply Hazy, Try Again."

Someone might as well make a list of who has NOT been in the MCU.

@Vanillain - Okay, here's my list.

Margot Robbie.

Get on it, Feige, before she's stuck playing trashy clown movies forever.

@Vanillain - At this point there's so few big actors who've not been in a funnybook movie

Should’ve been Captain Marvel 😛

@regularmovieguy - I could see Hanks doing one for sure. Maybe a role like Annette Benning had in Capt. Marvel.
As much as I want Gosling as the Joker... he's said in the past he doesn't like multi-contract deals. Maybe a one-off. I don't think DiCaprio's ever doing one of these though, but he did meet with Todd Phillips for Joker, so it's definitely possible.
Also, lol, forgot to put Meryl Streep. I could see her joining one if she can squeeze Mary Poppins and Mamma Mia sequels in between an Oscar nomination and a forthcoming Emmy nomination.

@Spock0Clock - Margot's easy..

If not her then Emily Blunt or Elizabeth Banks. I'd say Natalie Dormer but she was in The First Avenger for like five seconds. Off the wall, Lea Seydoux.

@tmp3

Yeah, T. Hanks will end up in a CBM. Prolly sooner rather than later, too.

Gosling, I don’t see him doing another blockbuster movie unless it’s with a Villanueve or a Nolan or someone of that caliber - First Man was awesome and it tanked. Hope that doesn’t deter him from taking risks on bigger movies.

Meryl was in the Mary Poppins sequel?!
Been watching S2 of Big Little Lies.

@regularmovieguy - I still gotta see S1 of BLL. Going through the Wire rn, that's some good shit. Might start BLL afterwards, but I hear Streep's amazing in it. In other news, water is wet.
I was hoping Gosling would be in Nolan's next joint, but he got Pattinson, who's another actor on a hot streak rn. Maybe he can join Dune 2 and reteam with Denis.

@Spock0Clock - You're the casting expert, give Emily Blunt a role then. Margot your top choice for Sue?
Kumkani

@regularmovieguy - I don't see Margot pulling off Carol any better just because she's a white and blonde woman
DalekCraigWasson
DalekCraigWasson - 7/10/2019, 4:51 PM
@Nebula - I'm with Spock; Blunt doesn't fit Sue. Blunt's best role would have been Black Widow as originally announced. I really like what Scarlett did in the end, but I could believe Blunt much more easily as a former killer. Moonstone in a Captain Marvel sequel?

Margot would be good, but my ideal fancast is Kristen Bell. She is much more like how I imagine Sue when I read her in the comics than Blunt. Bell would pull off the girl next door sweetheart side, the mother of the group side, and the kickass woman who could put you in a bubble and deprive you of oxygen side. I could see Blunt as the last, but not the first two.
Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 7/10/2019, 4:54 PM
@Nebula - Margot for Sue, absolutely. For Blunt... give me a minute. I like to start with a character and find the right actor, but I'll try it in reverse...

Emily Blunt... for... (This is hard...)

... I'm getting Courtney Ross / Saturnyne in a Captain Britain solo, mostly. Or possibly a Hawkgirl, though I'm less fond of it.

@DnA

I like Brie Larson - great actress. But her line delivery in Captain Marvel was pretty bad. She seemed bored (maybe that’s Carol Danvers) but I do think Margot could’ve at least brought some energy to the role.

Would’ve been a good substitute regardless.

DUDEEEEE...

Watched S1 and S2 of The Wire. Loved it...stopped watching for reasons I don’t know why and now I’m back into it and almost done with S3.

Really great show. Can’t wait to finish. Actually put my Deadwood binge on hold to restart this show.

Spock0Clock
Spock0Clock - 7/10/2019, 8:51 PM
@inkniron - I haven't heard anything specific about Birds of Prey, but I was concerned when they made her a producer and seemingly gave her so much creative control. But, in Waititi's words, Marvel lets you steer the ship, but guides you away from the icebergs. If she's headed toward icebergs in Birds of Prey, then that doesn't mean she's always got completely bad judgment, just that WB either can't or won't steer her away from them.

In either case: a deal is a deal!

@marvel72 -

This was my first thought when reading the comment and I scrolled through all of this ^^ to make sure someone said it before I needed to.

I think the beginning of this thread would be more appropriately in line with "big name actors not in super hero movies".

Not a lot of people know 'Road to Perdition' is based on a graphic novel.
