RUMOR: Marvel Studios Is Reportedly Preparing To Announce An ETERNALS Movie

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is going to expand moving into Phase 4 but will the Eternals be among the new additions to this world? According to a new report, they're on the way to the big screen...

We've been hearing rumblings about the possibility of an Eternals movie for a while now but Bleeding Cool has run a report claiming to have heard from "ultra-reliable" sources that a big screen adventure featuring the characters is indeed in the works. The heroes were created by Jack Kirby and with Thor: Ragnarok borrowing heavily from his work in terms of visuals, they'd fit in really well in the MCU.

An announcement is said to be imminent and Marvel Studios has been meeting with writers about the property recently so we could now hear something official about the film in a matter of weeks.

Eternals would also be a great way for Kevin Feige and company to outshine Warner Bros.' plans for a New Gods movie and this lot would definitely fit in well after Guardians of the Galaxy kicked open the door to a Marvel Cosmic Universe. This group of characters are an evolutionary offshoot of humanity living on Earth who possess greater powers and longer lifespans than the mainstream human race.

They're not the most well-known group but neither were the Guardians before James Gunn brought them to the big screen so this project definitely has some potential...if it ultimately happens that is!

One hand, this could be very good if done right.
On the other... Inhumans.

I don't understand... Feige drags his feet on Inhumans but he wants Eternals? Come on, man. Have some decency, sir. And with the X-Men right around the corner!

Granted, I've read basically zero Eternals comics. It always struck me as a little bit too Kirby, if you get my drift. Lots of love for the King, but when he ran without a leash, he could get a little... (is there a nice word for "up your own ass?") ... cerebral...

Very excited if this turns out to be true. I love the Eternals. The Eternals Saga in Thor was actually what first made fall in love with the character of Thor oh so many years ago. So yeah I have quite the soft spot for Ikaris and the bunch. Not to mention Sersi’s adventures with the Avengers and Makkari’s adventures with Quasar.

@TheUnworthyThor - I would like to see the film feature some early Titan as well. I would love to see the Thanos origin in that film.

Or... you could pretend Buck never happened and make the Inhumans?

@noahthegrand - I would love to see an actual great big screen adaptation of the Inhumans. I’d be willing to forget that show ever happens. But I’ve always liked the Eternals more than the Inhumans.

I don't know anything about the Efernals, but the premise seems similar to Inhumans and I 'm sure it'll probably be good.

I mean, i'd like to see the Celestials, but Eternals? Not a big fan...

I am constantly caught off-guard that Marvel Cosmic is where these movies are really headed. I'm mostly a tights and secret identity kind of guy, so I'm getting a crash course in whatever the hell those ominous and vague splash pages were about when Spider-Man had some awkward run-in with some silly demi-god or other.

Same, especially when it comes to the Marvel Universe, i don't know why but they really REALLY want to go cosmic now, maybe Gunn is behind this, i dunno...
I like most cosmic characters, even the obscure ones, so the thought of having Shi'ar and the Starjammers (you know...eventually) makes me happy! :3
I mean, if they want to make a movie about Eternals, then why not Shi'ar or Starjammers, am i right? :P
I think they should just wait though, cause in matter of a couple of years, they can use Galactus, Kang, Silver Surfer etc... so there's no need to make a movie ad hoc for those Eternals.
We'll see i guess, this could be just a bs rumor.
