VIDEO GAMES: Concept Art Surfaces From EA's Cancelled Marvel Fighting Game

In 2004, Electronic Arts joined forces with Marvel with the intention of creating some exciting new fighting games based on their vast comic book universe. The first title from the ill-fated partnership was 2005's "Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects." When it was released it didn't fly off the shelves as the price of the game had to be cut by as much as 40 percent less than two months after its release.

After that, EA would take one more crack at a Marvel fighting game, but it was cancelled, and EA dissolved the partnership with Marvel. Now, new images have surfaced from that cancelled project, as the site Siliconera, has received new screenshots from an artist that worked at the EA Chicago studio. As you can see in the video and images below Captain America, Spiderman, and the Hulk would have been playable characters. Also, screenshots of the menu, which had comic book-like aesthetic, reveal the game controls and fighting modes; campaign mode, what if scenarios, and online play.
