“Maleficent” is the untold story of Disney’s most iconic villain from the 1959 classic “Sleeping Beauty.” A beautiful, pure-hearted young woman, Maleficent has an idyllic life growing up in a peaceable forest kingdom, until one day when an invading army threatens the harmony of the land. Maleficent rises to be the land’s fiercest protector, but she ultimately suffers a ruthless betrayal—an act that begins to turn her pure heart to stone. Bent on revenge, Maleficent faces an epic battle with the invading king’s successor and, as a result, places a curse upon his newborn infant Aurora. As the child grows, Maleficent realizes that Aurora holds the key to peace in the kingdom—and perhaps to Maleficent’s true happiness as well.

Maleficent is being directed by Robert Stromberg, based on a screenplay by Paul Dini and Linda Woolverton. The cast includes: Angelina Jolie, Elle Fanning, Sharlto Copley, Juno Temple, Sam Riley, Miranda Richardson and Imelda Staunton. Will land in theaters May 30, 2014.

My favorite part of this movie will be the post-credit scene where Nick Fury offers Sleeping Beauty an invitation to the Avenge- wait, what the hell just happened?

@bazinga

And her neck is creepily long to like she is from one of those African tribes that make women wear those neck rings.

I have absolutely no desire to see this movie saw this trailer and thought the same as I did for Alice and Wonderland and Oz The Great and Powerful. None of these movie hold any interest for me at all.

I'm not sure about this movie, took my nieces to see Spiderman and when the trailer for Maleficent showed they genuinely got scared. I asked a few of my friends what their kids thought and most were scared of Angie and the tree creatures as well

Er... That "Diaval" poster is the first thing about this film to really give me pause... That's some serious wanna-be "Twilight" vibe they're pushing with that one. I so don't need that injected into the story.
