After weeks of buildup, Dharma Productions has released the official trailer for Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva, their upcoming fantasy adventure film that will launch the Astraverse, Bollywood's first original cinematic universe that will draw inspiration from deeply rooted concepts and epic tales from Hindu mythology.

The film is expected to be the first entry in a trilogy, telling the tale of the "Astras" (weapons) and the "Brahmastra" (the lord of all weapons), and how the reawakening of these ancient weapons will turn young Shiva's (Kapoor) life on its head. Shiva will be forced to master his own superpower - the ability to manipulate fire - and make a last-ditch effort to save the world from the greatest evil it's ever faced.

Ayan Mukerji (Wake Up SidYeh Jawaani Hai Deewani) helmed the feature, which is said to be one of the most expensive Bollywood films ever produced. Ranbir Kapoor (SanjuAe Dil Hai Mushkil) and Alia Bhatt (Gangubai Kathiawadi; Dear Zindagi), who recently tied the knot in real-life, will star in the lead roles as Shiva and Isha, respectively.

Joining Kapoor and Bhatt are the legendary Amitabh Bachchan (Mohabbatein; Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham) as Guru, Mouni Roy (Gold; K.G.F: Chapter 1) as Junoon, Nagarjuna Akkineni (BangarrajuWild Dog) as Anish, Dimple Kapadia (TenetDabangg 3), Divyendu Sharma (Mere Desh Ki DhartiToilet: Ek Prem Katha), Dhruv Sehgal (Little ThingsModern Love: Mumbai), and Saurav Gurjar (MahabharatWWE NXT).

It's also been heavily rumored that megastar Shah Rukh Khan (Veer-ZaaraDon - The Chase Begins Again) will make a cameo appearance in the film, and some eager fans already seem to believe they've spotted him in the trailer.

Brahmāstra Part One: Shiva hits theaters in India and across the globe on September 9.

@RegularPoochie - Every other country dubs our movies, but if we would prefer to watch a movie than read one, we are idiots? Personally I'm a paid voiceover artist, so I wish more people would demand english dubs.

@RegularPoochie - Only an idiot calls others idiots. But I do suggest always seeing a film with the original language, subtitles are fine and you’ll get used to reading as the film goes on. Although when it comes to animation like Anime, it’s not always necessary since both the original actors and dub actors are both just recording in a booth whereas live action the original actors are there on set it’s a more drastic change. Cowboy Bebop for example is a wonderful dub.

I have no idea what this is supposed to be about or what it is trying to say. Other than that, the PS2 level special effects and the "love conquers all" type theme tells me this is not for me.

The Title sounds and reminds me of some Past and fast Final Fantasy Final boss stage. Attack defend and keep attacking.

There's like seventy different things going on in that trailer and I'm pretty sure three of them were dance numbers.

Looks amusing, I'm in.

Still typical Bollywood type. Dancing and singing. Meh.
I prefer watching Kamal Hassan's "Vikram" over this shit.

So I was thinking of an idea for a "Superhero" show and this trailer reminded me of it. Basically it takes place in an alternate reality in which each country raced to make their own superhero. Instead of the space race it was the Superhero Race. And each country made one Superhero that represents that country. But before they made the perfect hero they made some botched test subjects and those test subjects have lived in silence for too long. So each country and their superhero go on these crazy missions to stop the secrets from coming out before the world's first Smartphone reaches the market. Then we learn that countries like the US, Russia, and China specifically made their hero a weapon of war and so on.
