Variety reports that Joe Johnston (Captain America: The First Avenger, The Wolfman, Jurassic Park 3) will helm TriStar's upcoming Narnia revival, The Silver Chair, which will seemingly serve as both a continuation and soft reboot of the original 3 films in the series.
Whereas the other C.S. Lewis adaptations focused on the Pevensie children, this story puts their cousin Eustace Scrubb (played by Will Poulter in the previous films), who travels to Narnia in an attempt to rescue the kidnapped child of Prince Caspian.
The movie will be produced by Mark Gordon Company, the C.S. Lewis Company, and Entertainment One, while Life of Pi scribe David Magee will adapt the script.
