Check Out Some Intriguing New Footage From KING ARTHUR: LEGEND OF THE SWORD Ahead Of Tomorrow's Trailer

If you've been waiting to see something new from Guy Ritchie's King Arthur: Legend of the Sword, the trailer tease below contains some very interesting new shots from the film.

While the first trailer definitely hinted that this take on the classic tale would contain some fantastical elements, fans were still concerned that Ritchie would attempt a more "grounded" version, much like Antoine Fuqua demystified 2004 movie. Though there is a chance that could still be the case, the footage below certainly seems to suggest otherwise.

The young Arthur runs the back passages of Londonium with his crew, not knowing his royal lineage until he grabs Excalibur. Instantly confronted by the sword’s influence, Arthur is forced to make up his mind. Joining the rebellion and an enigmatic young woman named Guinevere, he must learn to address her and eventually understand her magic weapon, deal with his demons and unite the people to defeat the dictator Vortigern, the man who murdered his parents and stole his crown to become king.

Be sure to check back for the full trailer tomorrow. King Arthur: Legend of the Sword is set to hit theaters on May 12.

I'm only giving this movie a chance because of Guy Ritchie.

This has nothing to do with comic books. Just saying.

@Magegg - There have been King Arthur comics and will be again. Plus, you could say the same about the 3 articles below this one. We don't only cover movies that are based on comic books and never have.

I think this is going to be a good film but it's coming out at the wrong time.

I mean you have Guardians 2 the week before, Alien: Covenant the week after, Pirates of the Caribbean on week 2 and then Wonder Woman after that.

It's a bizarre choice for the studio to bury the film. Hope it has some success if it's good though.

@UltimateCarnage - I agree this would have done well in a time like August or September

@RancidBane - Yeah, it feels like an end of summer/early autumn movie (or fall if you're from the states).

@UltimateCarnage - I Hear ya. It's only Fall down here in the South. Up towards the Canadian border I heard autumn all the time.

Guy Ritchie is in the Warners Roof.
Why not offer him a DC property?

Sorry, but when a movie has had 4 different release dates, I can't get excited for it.

The title of this movie sounds like a board game...

Oh, great.

More STUPID-ASSED "modern re-imagine-ing" of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table, you know, turning of The Christ's chalice filled with His Own Blood into a tired as hell movie filled with non-historical shiny armor ("Excalibur"), avoidance of the Christian religious zeitgeist in all of the searchers of the Grail, and the stupid-as-hell "retellings" of the ancient tales of Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table.

Hey, Guy Ritchie (we all know you had to f*ck Madonna repeatedly, which would be like swishing your willie in a warm glass of water while she distractedly took call phones calls), you don't know the first GOD DAMMNED THING about Morte d'Artur, you talentless sack of festering dogshit.

GO BACK TO FECKING ORIGINAL SOURCE MATERIAL!!!! SIR TOMAS MALORY!!!! You suck-ass festering crap weasel!!!!

Oh, no, we can't do that! That is RELIGION, especially CHRISTIAN religion! Christ's chalice? NO FREAKING WAY!!!! We've got to make Christ gay, or Lancelot a transsexual, or Belvedere a tri-sexual with a penchant for cleverly-placed gerbils.

Holy SHIT if I actually get a DECENT treatment of King Arthur and the Knights of the Roundtable above and beyond Monty Pythin and the Holy Grail before I die, I will be a lucky man.

Until then, I get THIS Hollywood vomitus parading as great filmmaking.

Oh, and by the way: Let's have a movie about Gilgamesh and Enkidu on Spring Break??? Any of you people with half a brain will Google the fecking reference. It's only your flipping HERITAGE.

Thought for a second it was a Wonder Woman logo at the end of that trailer. Not sure why they went with that look but ok...
