When the review embargo lifted, Paramount and eOne's Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with a perfect 100% score, which it retained for quite a while. It's now dropped - but only slightly!

The review aggregator has announced that the fantasy adaptation is now officially "certified fresh" at 90%.

The critics consensus reads: "An infectiously good-spirited comedy with a solid emotional core, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves offers fun fantasy and adventure even if you don't know your HP from your OP."

The new live-action Dungeons and Dragons movie hits theaters this weekend - do you plan on checking it out? Drop us a comment down below.

"A charming thief and a band of unlikely adventurers undertake an epic heist to retrieve a lost relic, but things go dangerously awry when they run afoul of the wrong people," reads the official synopsis. "Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves brings the rich world and playful spirit of the legendary roleplaying game to the big screen in a hilarious and action-packed adventure."

Game Night directors Jonathan Goldstein and John Francis Daley helmed the project, and wrote the latest version of the script based on a previous draft by Michael Gilio. Derek Kolstad (John Wick; The Falcon and the Winter Soldier) has also been hired to write and develop a separate live-action Dungeons & Dragons television show, which was recently given a straight-to-series order for Paramount+.

Dungeons and Dragons: Honor Among Thieves arrives in theaters March 31, 2023.

Seen it. It's pure popcorn, but haven't seen a blockbuster movie with so much heart in a while. Hugh Grant, Chris Pine and Rene absolutely knock it out of the park. Also brilliant heist scene! Absolute gold! Not everything works, but it's still plenty of fun!

Also: MORE PRACTICAL EFFECTS! The creature effects here are splendid and show why they beat CGI.

Really hope this one has legs, because I would not mind more of this and less of the current Marvel Multiverse.

@ThorArms - A lot of CGI (mostly ok), but also a lot of practical effects which are easily standout and make the film more realistic.

Well if the writers were being truthful then it’s a movie full of emasculated male characters and that’s what the critics love so I’m not surprised.

@AnthonyVonGeek - Nope. They like it because it's good. It's the most fun you'll likely have in the cinema this year.

I saw it last week for the early access, it's worth it imo. And if we're comparing it to past D&D movies, this is Citizen Kane lol
