In a recent interview with Empire magazine,Dwayne Johnson says that this Hercules movie is more darker and grittier that people know. "It's a very different role for me. This is darker, grittier and edgier than people might expect, When we first meet Hercules, he's been exiled from Athens after being accused of committing a horrific crime." He then describes some of Hercules Characteristics, "He's a mercenary who's lost his faith. He doesn't believe in gods or legends, just in spreading his own legend. But what makes a man strong is his willingness to get better." He then added, "That, and an ability to down a fifth of tequila in one night!" Hercules is an upcoming American adventure film directed by Brett Ratner and starring Dwayne Johnson (in multiple roles), Ian McShane, Reece Ritchie, Ingrid Bolsø Berdal, Joseph Fiennes, and John Hurt. It is based on the graphic novel Hercules: The Thracian Wars. Distributed jointly by Paramount Pictures and MGM, it is set to be released on July 25, 2014.It is one of two Hollywood-studio Hercules movies scheduled for 2014, the other being Summit Entertainment's The Legend of Hercules.
