Well, I know, just like those 'Chipmunk' films, my daughter will be dragging me to see this. And I do have to admit, Hank Azaria will probably be kind of awsome and fun to watch.

Wow, Hank looks exactly like Gargamel. But the plot is kinda lame. Smurfs in New York? There's only one set of 1980's cartoon characters that should be in a live action New York City, and thats the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.

I was really hyped about this in a nostalgic way, until I heard what the plot is.....really lame! But they have so many good people in this, especially Hank Azaria as Gargamel!, hopefully they'll carry it over this sh*tty sounding plot

@rolanddeschain agreed! it makes me wonder how people who grew up with this stuff would do such damage to the property. dont they remember what it was like originally? do they think they need to pervert the property in order to make it more accessible to kids today? like they did with the scooby doo movies and what they are doing with marmaduke, the looney tunes, and yogi bear? WTF???? these prperties endure because they were created with staying power. they are ageless. so why try and 'update' them by totally destroying their roots, their origins, their personalities?

HelaGood@ so true about how they keep ruining timeless classics. I tried to watch that crappy underdog movie the other day...couldn't get past 5 minutes of it w/o changing the channel, & didn't even try to waste time with those scooby doo movies. What kid wouldn't be good with the smurfs, gargamel, azrael, & the whole king arthur era vibe? They could've even added johan and pee wee for more human interaction, but noooooooo, they had to bring them into modern day central park!! wtf!

papa smurf says that this movie is gonna smurf. Smurf this movie in my opinion. Hank Azaria looks Gargamel to a T but still this movie will probably smurf. So my smurf the Smurf movie.

@rolanddeschain i totally forgot about underdog. and how about rocky and bullwinkle? that was a complete fail! i would think it would be an easy win if they just stuck with the original material, and yet they have to change it so much that any semblance of the original characters are all but invisible.

The following movies blow hard, Garfield, Scoobee-Do, Alvin in the chipmunks. But my 2 yr old loves the Chipmunks.

I am feeling Enchanted minus the Princess & Wicheted Witch primise.
