Hermione Granger Emma Watson has returned to Platform 9¾ and she's ready to take us on an all-new magical adventure this New Year's Day with the HBO Max special event Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.

The special will reunite original stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) for the first time since the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two, and twenty years after the launch of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It will begin streaming on January 1, 2022.

The iconic trio will share the stage with their original director Chris Columbus and a wide variety of their legendary co-stars, including Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid), Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), James Phelps (Fred Weasley), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Ian Hart (Quirinus Quirrell), and more.

While an official length is still to-be-determined, the long-awaited reunion will also delve into the making of all eight films with new in-depth retrospective interviews and exclusive cast conversations, so it should be well worth the wait.

Following its timed HBO Max-exclusivity, the special will later make its global debut on TBS and Cartoon Network in Spring 2022, ahead of the April 15th theatrical launch date of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.

They should just make sequels with Harry as an Auror, and Hermione in the Ministry. There are some great writers out there who love these characters that could write some great continued post Hogwarts adventures

@ThorArms - The third film is still many peoples favorite but the rest of the series is worth watching. The storyline matured alongside the characters and the audience. You can skip the Fantastic Beasts movies.

@Menks123 - The timing of this confirmation is interesting especially when Kingpin and Matt Murdock are rumored to appear in Hawkeye and No Way Home this month.

These Reunion Specials feel like such wasted opportunities to tell more tales in the same universe.
They built the old Friends set just to have these guys sit around as themselves and talk about the show. Instead they could have filmed a live-episode or something to properly celebrate this show.

Same here, why not tell a new story (like a spin-off) rather than have the talk-show BS

I really think they could make an adult Harry Potter movie and it would be just as good if not better than the previous movies.
