Hermione Granger Emma Watson has returned to Platform 9¾ and she's ready to take us on an all-new magical adventure this New Year's Day with the HBO Max special event Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts.
The special will reunite original stars Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) for the first time since the premiere of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part Two, and twenty years after the launch of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. It will begin streaming on January 1, 2022.
The iconic trio will share the stage with their original director Chris Columbus and a wide variety of their legendary co-stars, including Helena Bonham Carter (Bellatrix Lestrange), Robbie Coltrane (Rubeus Hagrid), Ralph Fiennes (Lord Voldemort), Jason Isaacs (Lucius Malfoy), Gary Oldman (Sirius Black), Imelda Staunton (Dolores Umbridge), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy), James Phelps (Fred Weasley), Oliver Phelps (George Weasley), Mark Williams (Arthur Weasley), Bonnie Wright (Ginny Weasley), Alfred Enoch (Dean Thomas), Matthew Lewis (Neville Longbottom), Evanna Lynch (Luna Lovegood), Ian Hart (Quirinus Quirrell), and more.
While an official length is still to-be-determined, the long-awaited reunion will also delve into the making of all eight films with new in-depth retrospective interviews and exclusive cast conversations, so it should be well worth the wait.
Following its timed HBO Max-exclusivity, the special will later make its global debut on TBS and Cartoon Network in Spring 2022, ahead of the April 15th theatrical launch date of Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
