During a press junket for Immortals ComingSoon caught up with producers Mark Canton and Gianni Nunnari, to talk about the prequel to Zach Snyder's highly acclaimed 300. Find out below where the project is currently at, and if there's a possibility of a King Leonidas cameo.

On The Current State Of The Project:

"We have to say that Zack Snyder and Kurt Johnstad, his writing partner, have killed it, they've done a tremendous job making a highly intelligent, epic story that will stand on its own. But it's not a conventional sequel and, for what we do, that's what you hope and pray for. That you can be original and authentic at the same time."

"It's a work in progress... as opposed to a year ago where it was just something we wanted to do."

On A Possible Gerald Butler's Cameo:

"It's too early to say," he smiled, "but we know the answer."

I have no idea how they're going to pull this off, but I'm encouraged by his confidence.
I'll keep an open mind for now.

@thetinman Well you're going to think that aren't you? After all 300 Spartans did open up a can of whoop ass on the persian armies.

@thetinman: why does it bother you??? I don't think any of the actually remember that period or chose to glorify that.. All remnants of ancient Persia and that culture has been drowned for good with islamization..

And now its just hating for the sake of hating.. Isn't it?? Correct me if I am wrong..

@thetineman dude do you think spartans liked it either making them look the way they did with eye shadow and stuff? it a HYPER STYLIZED take on real events and a COMIC BOOK adaptation which many people forget, if you have a problem with the way they are portrayed take it up with the graphic novel

Not sure if this film is necessary, but I'll definitely see it. Could be surprising.
