Keira Knightley Returns In A New International Trailer For PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: DEAD MEN TELL NO TALES

It was rumored back in December that Keira Knightley would also be returning for Pirates of the Caribbean 5 and now, thanks to a new international trailer, it's been confirmed. Take a look!

The band is back together!

Back in December, rumors were circulating that original trilogy star (and Cable runner-up) Keira Knightley would be reprising her role as Elizabeth Turner (née Swann) and join her former co-stars Johnny Depp and Orlando Bloom in the long-running franchise's fifth installment, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales. The rumor remained unconfirmed as we entered the new year, but it looks like Disney themselves have decided to spoil her involvement.

The extent of her role is yet-to-be-seen, but TooFab's original unconfirmed report revealed that she filmed a small cameo opposite Bloom that will air during the end credits and will hint toward a much larger role in a potential sixth movie. It's uncertain whether she'll also share scenes with Depp.

Check out the new international trailer below:

Seriously, why do they keep revealing all the surprise characters in these random ass trailers and tv spots?

Wish this was saved for the movie, but that never happens today unfortunately. With the original 3 back together though, i'm actually excited for this!

Also, was she really considered a "runner-up" for Cable? I thought that was more of a joke or a longshot?

So they put the secret, surprise end credit stinger… in the trailer. That's really dumb. And they probably just spoiled the end of the movie. Real smart…

@santoanderson - This poorly conceived move makes me think the studio doesn't have any confidence in the film.

@Parker00 - It was screened to film critics and bloggers a couple weeks ago, at Cinemacon, and it was actually warmly received. I mean, I don't think there was a standing ovation, but the common response I heard was "It's a lot better than the fourth movie."

Ugh… these idiot marketers spoiling movies. This would be like putting Howard the Duck in the trailer for GOTG 1.

Is it nothing kept sacred anymore?
How is it we've got to this point in the movie industry, that the only way to be genuinely surprised by a movie; is to not actually see any of the trailers or commercials. Must we now rely on: "A friend of mine mentioned (insert title)." And just go and see it while chanting "Please don't suck"? That is not how me an the Mrs want to spend a night at the cinema!

Ah!!
The scoundrel, the princess and the young hero together again.

See JJ and Kathleen...it wasn't that hard. Even Pirates could figure it out.

What the [frick] guys.. why has movie marketing and promoting gone to shit these days?

Studios don't know how to tease movies anymore. They lay out all the bits and pieces so you can put the story together yourself..

Thor: Ragnorak's teaser.. SOLD! I don't want to see anymore trailers for it.

Spider-Man: Homecoming's latest trailer legit condensed the movie into 2 and a half minutes..

Like we even have trailers FOR trailers? What the actual [frick]! And nowadays we even get those 2-3 second glimpses directly preceeding a trailer.. smh

In regards to this movie though, I'm keen. It looks better than 2,3 and 4. First one was great, and I can see the influence of it. Feels like their bringing the franchises back to its roots of what made it successful in the first place.

MVP of this franchise though is Geoffrey Rush, so glad he's still doing them. His Barbossa is boss.

I am interested in Javier Bardem's Salazar villain, there is something about him that makes him stand out to me.

Is it me or is it sometimes laughable that people complain about spoilers in trailers when they dont need to watch them (or in today's context, shouldn't watch them). Don't y'all know better by this point? And on top of that it's an international trailer, which almost always guarantees more footage. Stick to the first teaser or trailer or something and stop looking in places you're gonna be spoiled. It's entirely plausible.

NOW

That being said, in this case Rohan decided to put the spoiler in the headline with no spoiler warning. Guess it's not considered much of a spoiler to them. Still people, there are tangible ways to avoid spoilers if you want to.

@MarsivNayr - The problem isn't the tv spot - everyone can decide whether to watch it or not.

The problem is the title of the article that just throws the spoiler in your face without any warnings.
