Elon Musk Slams THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER And Says "Tolkien Is Turning In His Grave"

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has divided Middle-earth fans, and controversial billionaire Elon Musk has torn into the series saying it depicts male characters as "a coward, a jerk or both."

Elon Musk is making headlines again as the eccentric billionaire has taken to social media to share his thoughts on The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.

Some believe this is little more than an attempt to reignite his long-running feud with Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. Regardless of the reason, he's clearly not a fan of the show as he kick off by saying that "Tolkien is turning in his grave."

The Tesla CEO would go on to state, "Almost every male character so far is a coward, a jerk or both. Only Galadriel is brave, smart and nice."

With that, Musk joins a section of The Lord of the Rings fandom who don't approve of the way the series is portraying its characters, including Galadriel being portrayed as a brave warrior. Despite a very vocal minority making their dislike of the show's creative decisions known, it's been a big hit for Prime Video with positive reviews and a massive 25 million global viewers during its first 24 hours available to stream.

"I would say that her serenity is hard-earned," Galadriel actress Morfydd Clark previously said of how her character evolves between the events of this show and the movie trilogy. "I don’t think you get to that level of wisdom without going through things. She actually speaks about [how] with wisdom, there is a loss of innocence, which was a really good thing for me to find in the lore. Because, like, how young are you when you’re still thousands of years old? So it was thinking of what innocence she lost during this time."

As for Musk, he's been rivals with Bezos for years, with both attempting to enter the spaceflight business. Perhaps this was just a chance to take a cheap shot at his streaming service's newest series, but it doesn't necessarily paint the controversial figure in the best of lights.

The third episode of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power arrives on Prime Video this Thursday/Friday.

Isn't this the second article on the same tweet? Didn't stir up enough controversy the first time so, yea, why not.

@Goldboink - and according to the people on this site, the problem is us commenters for getting heated. Not the writers for so blatantly lighting the fuse.

@Origame - Preach! Chuuurch! Tabernacle! You call for civility but clickbait articles like these don’t fan the flames? Then they’ll just hide been the age old “we just report the news. We have no control over what people comment.” Fan flaming at its finest

@Origame - Just look at the names they are calling him here in the comments. They span from insults to accusations. Scroll through. It's nothing new. It's perfectly fine for them to behave this way when it's someone they don't like. They are morally justified of course. But if we notice it... Well then we're incels of course.

@krayzeman - I'm currently in a discussion about this with nate. He's blatantly ignoring obvious solutions to the problems of flame wars in the comments by just not allowing articles about politics and is instead focusing on giving the writers the ability to disable comments if they want. And when I pointed out its just gonna effectively remove the comments he responded "I'm sure they're just gonna do it when it's really toxic". It's like, no they won't. It'll be whenever they want to avoid different opinions. Which, given some of the trigger fingers of these users when it comes to deleting comments, will be all the time.

@DarthOmega - I just don't like the double standard is all.

Did they ever get that bug in their self driving cars fixed that would actively run over mannequins under 5' tall?

@Reeds2Much - Don’t think so. Phantom braking on the highway when it sees a shadow is still a huge issue too
