A few days ago, it was reported that stunt woman Dayna Grant has suffered a life-threatening brain injury. TheOneRing.net incorrectly tweeted that she suffered the injury while on the set of Amazon Prime's upcoming Lord of the Rings series. The tweet has since been removed.

Grant was recently rushed to the hospital after experiencing symptoms of Traumatic Brain Injury and after an MRI, it was revealed that she had an 8mm Aneurysm and upper spinal (neck) injuries that require immediate surgery.

Grant has worked on several other productions since working on the upcoming multi-million dollar Lord of the Rings series. She also offers a weekend stunt school. It is unclear which production she was working on when the aneurysm was discovered.

Dayna Grant stunt filmography includes many well known works in films & shows such as Mad Max: Fury Road, Ash vs. Evil Dead, Wonder Woman 1984, and Xena Warrior Princess. In Xena, she was the stunt double for series star Lucy Lawless. Grant was working as a stunt performer on the Lord of the Rings television show. The show will be part of Amazon's Prime Video service. The $1.6 trillion company is reportedly spending $465 million on Lord of the Rings Season 1 alone.

Grant's family and friends are looking to crowd-fund $NZ60,000 for the surgery which is equal to $60,000 USD. Her family has set up a donation platform on GiveALittle.co.nk.

I don’t know how to format this article since the site won’t let me log in on a laptop so I did the best I could through my iPhone.

Nobody shared this so I thought I would. Without question more important content then say the name of a ship off a toy package or what an actor who played a character for 15 seconds said or Twitter wanting a Batfleck film

Such important news stories

Anyway here’s the link to get crowd funder.

She reached her goal but if you still want to donate, you could

It's outright immoral that Amazon isn't footing her hospital bill and it should be ilegal too.

@4thMaster - most productions do not pay the stunt teams medical bills. Though notoriously stingy this one is not their fault as much as it is the industry undervaluing stunt preformers

@Hulkh8liars - I know, and the law should force them to pay for every cent of the bill that isn't covered by health insurance; at least until we get single payer healthcare.

Kinda baffles me - literally 95% of things in these bid budget TV shows and movies are CGI. The costumes and sets and even some actors are CGI, but the stunts have to be real? Does not make sense.

Why isn't insurance covering it?

@Reeds2Much - Health insurance has confirmed they are unable to cover the surgery, and the public system has a minimum 4 month waiting list

This sucks for her and hers but the vast majority of stunt contracts don't pay your medical bills in case of injury. It's a shame her insurance didn't have her covered(switch coverage) but the real tragedy is that this day and age everyone doesn't have free/affordable healthcare.

Jeff Bezos is truly an evil man. He'll die before even 1 percent of his money is gone, he is worth over a 100 billion, so he should be paying better to all of his employees.

As for this woman, I pray she'll be alright and get what is rightfully do.
