THE LORD OF THE RINGS: THE RINGS OF POWER Season Finale Teased With New Poster

Prime Video (via SFFGazette.com) has shared a new poster hyping-up the season finale of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, which is set to hit the streaming service on October 14th.

The artwork calls to mind some of the theatrical one-sheets that were released for Peter Jackson's trilogy back in the day, and spotlights Galadriel, Arondir, Elrond, and most of the show's other main characters.

The Rings of Power has definitely taken a slow burn approach to this prequel story, but Friday's episode kicked the action into another gear with some intense battle sequences and a cliffhanger conclusion which saw Mount Doom erupt and cover the lands that will soon come to be known as Mordor in fire and ash.

We still have one more episode to go before the finale, and if you want some idea of what to expect from the aftermath of "Udun," click here to check out a promo.

Amazon Studios’ forthcoming series brings to screens for the very first time the heroic legends of the fabled Second Age of Middle-earth’s history. This epic drama is set thousands of years before the events of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings, and will take viewers back to an era in which great powers were forged, kingdoms rose to glory and fell to ruin, unlikely heroes were tested, hope hung by the finest of threads, and the greatest villain that ever flowed from Tolkien’s pen threatened to cover all the world in darkness.

Beginning in a time of relative peace, the series follows an ensemble cast of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the long-feared re-emergence of evil to Middle-earth. From the darkest depths of the Misty Mountains, to the majestic forests of the elf-capital of Lindon, to the breathtaking island kingdom of Númenor, to the furthest reaches of the map, these kingdoms and characters will carve out legacies that live on long after they are gone.

The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power stars Morfydd Clark, Benjamin Walker, Charles Edwards, Charlie Vickers, Markella Kavenagh, Nazanin Boniadi, Ismael Cruz Cordova, Tyroe Muhafidin, Maxim Baldry, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, Owain Arthur, Trystan Gravelle, Sir Lenny Henry, Ema Horvath, Sophia Nomvete, Megan Richards, Dylan Smith, Leon Wadham, Daniel Weyman, and Sara Zwangobani.

It’s been very enjoyable to have dramatic and visual contrasts between ROP and HOTD.

As a LOTR fan I keep watching this show, but it is very boring and I hope the next season is better if not I'll gladly not watch it.

My biggest issue is the show being called, "The Rings of Power" when the rings aren't even hinted at being forged yet. Sauron isn't in Eregion, nor has he met Celebrimbor.

Numenor falls long after the creation of the Rings, yet the series seems to want to combine those two storylines together.

The series seems to be trending like this: Creation of the Rings----> Fall of Numenor ------> War of the Elves & Sauron

This is a huge disservice to the Fall of Numenor storyline.

@WarAdmiral51 - Exactly. In addition, the re-emergence of Sauron from hiding storyline takes place 1,600 years even before the forging of the rings arc which, in and of itself, takes place 1,744 years before the fall of Numenor. The chronology compression smacks of lazy research and even lazier fidelity to the source canon

@SauronthePower - Based on how the series is trending, I think they might actually skip over the War of the Elves & Sauron, which would be egregious.

Considering its proposed 5-season run, they can't possibly have Sauron lose twice if they want to end season 5 with the War of the Last Alliance.

I see it possibly going like this:

Season 1 - Ends with Sauron's arrival in Eregion
Season 2 - Creation of the Rings of Power & Sauron's influence
Season 3 - Sauron travels to Numenor and we get the Fall of Numenor
Season 4 - Elendil/Isildur establishes Arnor/Gondor on Middle Earth
Season 5 - War of the Last Alliance

I think they could fit it in Season 3 possibly? Maybe right after the Rings are created, but it'll only be like 2 episodes. Lol
