It's been nearly six years since we saw Johnny Depp's Captain Jack Sparrow, but this Memorial Day, he's making his long-awaited return in what may be his most dangerous adventure yet: Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

This time around, he'll find himself evading someone he wronged in the past, the notorious Captain Salazar, played by Academy Award-winner Javier Bardem. However, fortunately for the forever lucky Sparrow, he'll be aided in his quest by a number of familiar faces from the past, including Will Turner, Barbossa, and Joshamee Gibbs as well as a few new faces like Henry Turner and Carina Smyth.

The film premiered to a warm reception at CinemaCon this past week, with many comparing it favorably to the 2003 original, and now, Walt Disney Studios has released a new TV spot. Check it out below:

I work for AMC Theatres. I've talked to some Film Buyers I know who are attending CinemaCon and have seen Pirates 5. They absolutely loved it! Couple of them saw Transformers 5 footage too... they hated it.

I'm mildly excited to see this. And with a lowered expectation I'll probably like it more.

I didn't hate the first trilogy, mostly because I love Gore Verbinski as a director.

Plus the rides tag line in the title is a nice touch

Yeah, it's got a good buzz coming out of the first screening. I'm interested to see if they've made another fun one or not.

I haven't watched the ourth Pirates film, which I was told was terrible, but from what I remember of the first three... wasn't Davy Jones' fungus/tentacled appearance a result of him not respecting some BS flying dutchman rule? So why does Will look all, you know, deformed in this?

@Franshu - A very good question and one I was thinking as well.

@BigDaddyJinx @Franshu - Yeah, he started becoming deformed because he abandoned his duty of taking the souls of dead sailors into the afterlife and returning to the Seven Seas.

Maybe Will wanted to pillage some Elizabeth Swan plunder before she became a cougar.
To dock his boat in her port before the storm
To board her deck before she takes on water

You see where I'm going...
