The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies” brings to an epic conclusion the adventures of Bilbo Baggins, Thorin Oakenshield and the Company of Dwarves. Having reclaimed their homeland from the Dragon Smaug, the Company has unwittingly unleashed a deadly force into the world. Enraged, Smaug rains his fiery wrath down upon the defenseless men, women and children of Lake-town. Obsessed above all else with his reclaimed treasure, Thorin sacrifices friendship and honor to hoard it as Bilbo’s frantic attempts to make him see reason drive the Hobbit towards a desperate and dangerous choice. But there are even greater dangers ahead. Unseen by any but the Wizard Gandalf, the great enemy Sauron has sent forth legions of Orcs in a stealth attack upon the Lonely Mountain. As darkness converges on their escalating conflict, the races of Dwarves, Elves and Men must decide – unite or be destroyed. Bilbo finds himself fighting for his life and the lives of his friends in the epic Battle of the Five Armies, as the future of Middle-earth hangs in the balance.

Starring Martin Freeman, Ian McKellen, Richard Armitage, Evangeline Lilly, Lee Pace, Luke Evans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Ken Stott, James Nesbitt, Cate Blanchett, Ian Holm, Hugo Weaving and Orlando Bloom, The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies is set to be released on December 17th.

Trim the fat Jackson. These movies are bloated. I still like them but they could be better.

Magnificent sunovabitch! Still sad Smaug isn't a 6 limb dragon though...

This is one of the better posters for this film series.

Somewhat reminiscent of the LoTR ensemble posters. Just not as good.

I suppose those Ultron/Hulkbuster images had no source?

I can't wait for someone to make a 3-hour super cut.

Why does Smaug look so different this time around, he used to be a light redish grey now he is a lot darker and the face looks a lot flatter designed. The eyes are also a darker yellow and the scales are now more shiny. Sure he was dipped in Gold the last film...

Ya hated the first one in theaters, didn't see the second one in theaters and when I watched it I hated it, I wonder if this trend will continue. I presume since the last two I hated I will hate this one.

@Scarilian

Well, they took away two of his limbs between the first and second movie, so I'd say pretty much anything is cool.

Who knows, maybe Jackson will pull a Prequel Lucas and make the third one the only watchable one.

@Kyos
True, but it does say a bunch about the movies that are supposed to tell one large story and they cant even keep consistent.

@Scarilian

Well, let's just say that I'm not a fan of Jackson's Hobbit for this and other reasons. ^^'

@Kyos
I only really enjoy parts of them, the films are way too dragged out and they dont even have the excuse of trying to replicate the books accurately anymore due to the altercations.

I wouldn't have thought it possible, but Desolation of Smaug actually made me appreciate the first movie more. But yeah, the trilogy thing is unneccessary as [frick] imo.
