Shazam! Fury of the Gods star Rachel Zegler has dominated headlines in recent weeks thanks to her role in Disney's divisive live-action Snow White remake. Whether it's sweeping changes made to the story or resurfaced comments from the actress that have divided opinions, Zegler definitely needs a win.

One could come in the form of November's The Hunger Games prequel, The Ballad Of Songbirds And Snakes. Set 60 years before Katniss Everdeen's story began, the movie is going to explore President Coriolanus Snow's early years, with the focus also on Zegler's District 12 tribute, Lucy Gray Baird.

Talking to Empire Online (via SFFGazette.com), director Francis Lawrence wonders, "Will people go see a new Hunger Games movie without Katniss?" The filmmaker obviously hopes so and believes much of the appeal will come in the form of a lead is is the "anti-Katniss."

"Katniss was an introvert and a survivor," he adds. "She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say [she was] asexual. Lucy Gray is the opposite. She wears her sexuality on her sleeve, [and] she really is a performer. She loves crowds. She knows how to play crowds and manipulate people."

A new still from The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has also been released and you can check that out below.

Experience the story of The Hunger Games - 64 years before Katniss Everdeen volunteered as tribute, and decades before Coriolanus Snow became the tyrannical President of Panem.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes follows a young Coriolanus who is the last hope for his failing lineage, the once-proud Snow family that has fallen from grace in a post-war Capitol. With his livelihood threatened, Snow is reluctantly assigned to mentor Lucy Gray Baird, a tribute from the impoverished District 12.

But after Lucy Gray’s charm captivates the audience of Panem, Snow sees an opportunity to shift their fates. With everything he has worked for hanging in the balance, Snow unites with Lucy Gray to turn the odds in their favor. Battling his instincts for both good and evil, Snow sets out on a race against time to survive and reveal if he will ultimately become a songbird or a snake.

The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes arrives in theaters on November 17.

Oh gawd, she's in this as well.

Wonder if she'll keep her mouth shut promoting this.

@marvel72 - did I miss something? All I know is every movie she stars in bombs, so I kinda expect the same here

I didn't realize it was Zegler playing the lead.
I found her very annoying in the interview i saw for Snow White and i will probably skip this movie because of her involvement.
To be fair, i was already on the fence about this movie.
I saw all 4 Hunger Games movies and thought they were okay, but just because Lawrence did a good job.

Honest question, how is Zegler so popular nowadays? She's not a good actress, she's not that attractive (not ugly but nothing special) and sucks at promoting her own movies.

"She was quite quiet and stoic, you could almost say [she was] asexual."

Might be me, but I feel to see the relation between quite and stoic, and asexuality. Didn't Katniss have the hots for two guys at the same time?

@bkmeijer1 - I think she means in how Katniss wasn't very outwardly feminine, given her choice she would dress very gender-neutral, very practical, and didn't care for any flair. Lucy here looks to be flamboyant and wears more feminine clothes when given the chance.

@1stDalek - now that makes sense. I still don't see the need to relate it to sexuality, when it's more about flamboyance

@bkmeijer1 - Agreed, I think she wanted to get to the comment on her character wearing her sexuality on her sleeve (which is more or less a common canned line actresses use now a days), and landed on the wrong word there for Katniss.

Yeah, just like with Jai Courtney and Sam Worthington, Hollywood is trying to make Rachel Zegler happen as hard as Gretchen tried to make fetch happen.

Hollywood, stop trying to make Zegler happen. She's never going to happen!
