"I honestly don’t feel that pressure, no," the actor told Total Film when asked about the high expectations that come with taking on an iconic role such as that of Bilbo Baggins. "I really, really don’t. Of course, it is Bilbo’s journey, but I didn’t write it. I’m not directing it… It’s not my film. It’s Peter’s film."

As you may already know, Freeman very nearly missed out on the role because of his commitment to BBC's Sherlock. "I was sad but I thought, 'I’ll just hate whoever plays Bilbo'," he joked. "The hardest thing is staying ‘up’ and peppy when you’re covered in snot or mud, day after day… I’m sure there’s more to come. So far, what we’ve filmed has been more comic than heavy. I keep asking Pete [Jackson], ‘When are we going heavy?’ He assures me it’s coming!"

UPDATE: Warner Bros. has today confirmed that the first teaser trailer for the movie will be released online at 7pm PST on Tuesday, December 20th.

ConnerBlaze, lol I have this friend with a total idiot wife who literally has to have anything in a movie explained to her. Through the entire trilogy she thought that the scenes where G talks to himself... lol, she thought there were 2 of them. This coming from someone who asked, "I don't get Zombis movies, why do they shoot the zombies, they're already dead?"

TOMMORROW AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
cant wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i hope the movies are both three and a half to four hours long!!
after the lord of the rings trilogy and several other big hollywood blockbusters broke the hour and a half mold ten years ago many moviegoers have since come around to, and enjoy sitting in a theater for a very long time to watch epic films. my point being, they better not release extended versions a year later using footage of things that should just be included from the get go. i own the extended lotr trilogy and it is wayyyyyy better than the theater cut. i wish the extra footage had been in theaters from the jump.

@ essexfactor....
makes you wish people like her could be strapped into the clockwork orange deprogramming chair and forced to just pay the frick attention.
i feel your pain on soooo many levels.
damn near every female in my family is like a stone cold retard when it comes to understanding some of the simplest plot devices and narration in every movie i have watched with them in attendance.
its torturous especially when you are trying to pay attention yourself and have to explain it while its still on

tired repeating extra loud SHHHHHHHH!!!! every five minutes
so i can hear what the are saying.

tired of repeating.. stop asking questions the frikken movie will explain itself if you just shut up and pay the F attention!!!!!

@SansClay: Agreed. Extended is better than the theatrical release especially the bit with Aragorn healing Eowyn in ROTK. That's some important shit. If anything that should have made its way into the original cut, but at least it's on film.
