David Ayer's Bright looks like it could wind up being either an unmitigated disaster, or totally f*cking awesome.

This latest trailer for the upcoming Netflix feature contains plenty of new footage of Will Smith's cop and his Orc partner (Joel Edgerton) getting into scrapes and shooting their way out. There are also fairies, elves, and something about a magic wand bringing about the end of times.

Check it out below, and let us know what you make of it in the usual place. Bright will be available in select theatres and on Netflix from December 22nd, 2017.

"Battling both their own personal differences as well as an onslaught of enemies, they must work together to protect a young female elf and a thought-to-be-forgotten relic, which in the wrong hands could destroy everything."

I used to get so excited for Ayer's movies, but Suicide Squad killed it for me =/

@ODanil - I feel like that movie is an example of a David Ayer movie NOT being enough of a David Ayer movie. If they had really let him go as dark as it feels like he wanted to especially after that first trailer it would have been better I think. I'm hoping he sticks around for Sirens and gets to do his dark thing (You can debate the general tone of the DCEU movies but the villain based projects should be darker imo) but yeah SS did not end up well. I liked the performances, and the character designs (even came around to the jokers look after hating it at first) but the plot was just.. wow. SHould have been Joker as the villain and should have kept that original tone from th efirts ffootage it seems like Dc got cold feet after the reception to BvS and decided to try and make Guardians of the Galaxy in the editing suite out of a movie that was not that

@Ha1frican - Wasn't the movie written in like six weeks or something crazy like that?

@EnnisFan - thats the rumor yeah and I believe it. Idk if Ayer said specifically the time frame but he said in that post after it was released that it was very short. I think thats part of why we havent heard anything from Gotham City Sirens in a while other than "we're working on it" bc they dont wanna move forward to fats like last time

@Ha1frican - I was insanely disappointed by SS. Such good marketing resulting in such a terrible movie. Definitely felt like a rush job. I won't write David Ayer out though for all the reasons you said, seemed like a top to bottom mess moreso than Ayer being 100% to blame.

@EnnisFan - See i thought all the marketing after the first trailer was utter trash. Very crass, obnoxious, technicolor drivel with pop songs thrown in to make people think it was Guardians of the Galaxy with villains (Dont get me wrong im not disparaging Guardians i love that series but this was not that nor should it ever been that and WB clearly wanted to trick people into thinking it was that)

@Ha1frican - I can see where you're coming from, I'm more talking about how pervasive the marketing was.

@EnnisFan - thats true that thing was everywhere, i mean just look at the following Halloween. Harley Quinn was EVERYWHERE last year to the point where i dont even tell people im a Harley fan anymore because thats all they know about and anyone who knows more thinks im just a fan bc of the movie. Same thing happened with Deadpool tbh

The script was pretty crap to be honest. It had David Ayer's fingerprints all over it. Should've just gone with what Max Landis originally wrote imo. As it stands, the script literally had another witch character ala The Enchantress. No joke.

I wonder who Egerton has signed up for in DC Films.

@IronGenesis - I could see him as a young Ted Grant
