Though the film is only entering it's four week of production in New Orleans, LA, information has slowly been trickling in from both studio sources and on-set fans. The latest tidbit comes from DC's newest executive Geoff Johns, who spoke at length about his position with the comics conglomerate and the direction of his latest series.
Regarding the
Green Lantern movie, Geoff Johns has has no qualms about letting eager fans in on several studio confirmations such as
Mark Strong landing the role of Sinestro and the
inclusion of the alien Lantern Salaak.
The veteran author was tight-lipped when asked about future DC movie properties like
Flash, Wonder Woman and Justice League, but he did convey his satisfaction with the progress of
Green Lantern:
“Ryan Reynolds is hilarious,” Johns told fans in attendance.
“Mark Strong is going to be a totally bad-ass Sinestro." "We’ve got Kilowog, we’ve got Tomar-Re, we’ve got Salaak, eight Green Lantern aliens, Oa’s there, the Guardians… It’s going to be cool." Eight alien Lanterns? Once you account for Abin, Kilowog, Tomar, Sinestro and Salaak, that leaves three that have yet to be revealed. Knowing Johns, though, it won't be long before we find out exactly which ones were picked to ring sling alongside Hal Jordan.
