Green Lantern: 4 Reasons Why You CAN'T Hate It Yet

Reason 1: It's A Fricking Green Lantern Movie.
How Long Have YOU Waited(heck even prayed) for a GL movie Huh? Well For Many People It Has Been A Long Wait and Now We are finally Getting a Green Lantern MOVIE! Green Lantern Has Been Around For A Long Time(I have no clue how long exactly but maybe you do!). Remember Back In 2006 when they were making a comedy GL movie but thank the lord it didn't happen because Jack Black Is Not Hal Jordan nor any human GL i have every considered. So When You Decide To Be A Troll And Hate It Just Remember Atleast We Re Getting A effin' movie.

Reason 2: There Isn't Even A Second Trailer.
Ok, So The 1st Trailer Was Shown on Entertainment Tonight and they only had a few short clips which made it look stupid but when it came to us in its glory on the internet it was awesome(i near soiled myself after see it.), But Some were not to pleased but you have to remember the CGI wasn't perfect because it had only been in Pre-Production for 2 months at the most so what do you expect. I Still think it looks good.

Reason 3: Mark Strong's Passion And Love For The Character Of Sinestro.
If You Haven't Watched Any Interviews of him talking about it then you need to.Strong's Passion Is the first thing to mention, Mark Strong Is A Damn good Actor and the way he interprets Sinestro is just amazing. And I Know We Haven't Heard Him Even Speak Yet as Sinestro But I'm Sure It will Be Amazing.

Reason 4: Ryan Reynolds
Ok, So some people have already decided to hate him as Hal....which makes no FRICKING sense because( reason 2 is my reason for this.), He Has Some Smart A$$ remarks in the 1st trailer but that doesn't mean he is gonna say something similar through the whole movie. And Another Thing is People Look At The Other Movies He Has Done And Jump To The Conclusion That He Will Be The same In GL, but he isn't, not every person acts the same in every movie(sure he has in others but i highly doubt he will be like that in GL.)
He Has Stated That He Got As Many Comics As He Could Of GL and read and read and read, which draws my conclusion that he will be good.

So Thats It....I Just Hope You All Won't Act Like Im Wrong Because of my opinion so be nice and have a good day

He looks fantastic in the suit, in my opinion. I hope the movie itself will be good. And you're right about how there's not even a second trailer, and people are already crapping on the teaser. Maybe the next one will be better...I'd love to see better shots of Reynolds in the suit.

@supersaiyanfan-I agree, they just changed the script so Ryan Reynolds would fit Hal. I also think it's ridiculous how they went back and took all of the best Hal Jordan stories from the comics and made them act more like Ryan Reynolds too! Next thing you know people might think that someone made a decent casting choice! What would we complain about!? The horror!

ok this is exactly the reason why i posted this....it is my opinion i am not saying your wrong for not liking it all i am saying is that the movie hasn't even came out and you already don't like it....what if it turns out to be good and makes a whole bundle of money like TDK which im not saying it will but just wait til it comes out to judge it.
And just because he has played the same kind of character over and over again doesn't mean he is gonna be the same in this.....you all are just judging to quickly.
nickkase@ 1.exactly there are alot of GL fans who have wanted a movie forever and now there is one but the point I was making there was that even if it isnt the greatest movie ever atleast there is a GL movie.
2. what jist? the first trailer was awesome but the CGI wasn't perfect and everyone jumped to the conclusion it would ultimately look like that but it was only a month or so into preproduction. and ET made it look stupid but the actual trailer is good.
3.I was saying that he is really into the character and he isn't playing the same character he plays in every movie. You can't say every movie because Kick-Ass was one he was in and I highly doubt he is gonna use a mobster style character.
4. i am not saying he is but people are saying he won't be any good when we have only seen him in 1 trailer

This post hit the nail on the head. Geoff Johns loved this script, he was there ON SET for parts of the filming, such as the Hal Jordan/Abin Sur scene, so that carries A LOT of weight with me.

Also, Ryan Reynolds and Mark Strong have both been quoted as saying they bought as many of the comics as they could to get a complete understanding of their characters. Reynolds also said that he regarded Green Lantern: Secret Origin as his "GL Bible". Any time he questioned what he should do, he went to that book. Secret Origin is by far one of the best origin stories ever written in comics, both DC and Marvel, and it gives the best portrayal and characterization of Hal Jordan EVER!!

The suit looks awesome, the supporting GL Corps members look awesome. The trailer didn't show too many details on the main plot, but did show that the origin story is spot on. We see him as the cocky, womanizing test pilot. We see him hit rock bottom. We see him chosen by the ring and taken to Abin Sur's crash site. We see him inherit the ring from Abin. We see him transported to Oa for training. We see him meet Sinestro, Kilowog, Tomar-Re, and the other corps members. We see him doubt the ring's choice in him. We see him man up and accept his responsibility as a Green Lantern. And we see him master the rings power, flying around, and saving the day.

This movie will be spot on and be out of this world awesome!!

I keep forgetting that the teaser came out after only two-ish months of post production.

It is pretty mad that people are jumping on the effects at such an early stage. I think hopes for that side of things will live or die with the second trailer.

They probably should have only given us a short one-minute teaser with a small glimpse of the suit or something while they fully got their house in order.

I think the anti-Reynolds movement is also an easy bandwagon to jump on at the moment. While I'd rather certain scenes (such as the costume reveal) didn't make it near the final cut, there are plenty of indications in the teaser that Hal doesn't spend the entire film running round with a silly grin on his face - despite what some fans on here are constantly saying.

GL must have something going for it if WB was willing to get the ball rolling on sequels already as well... They didn't just tie the actors down like they did for SR, they actually commissioned a script.

yea but i read one script but i have no clue if it is real because the whole part where he shows his friend the power of the ring isn't in the one i read.but i think it was the first draft cause it had some cameos in it that i beileve they took out

I totally agree with you.
There is also a fifth reason that people forget,
Geoff Johns is involved with the movie! He is the one
that brought Hal back to comics, and retold his origin.
Im confident that the movie will do good as long as he is there.

Agreeing with you with so much passsion right now.
Everybody is just whining about the movie like it is the end of the world.

They all kept saying that they change Hal's character in the movie, and yet (as far as I have read in the comics) he is supposed to be this cocky, arrogant pilot in the beggining of the Green Lantern comics. He is not just going to change into this brave and serious hero in one second just when he gets the ring; it is an origin movie after all.

I agree. I think those who are bashing this movie already are crazy. Does that mean the movie will be bad/good? Who knows!

We've been down this path 10000000 times. You get someone like Michael Keaton playing Batman...everyone HATES it.. BEFORE the movie comes out. Afterwards, everyone thinks its the best damn think since pants with pockets.

Or the opposite, you get a movie like Air Bender. The trailer looks great, everyone is excited, and then the movie is 100% TRASH!

So STFU, wait for the movie, THEN tell me if it is bad or good. At this point, I'm going to go see it becuase I've been waiting for a GL movie. Would I prefer Ryan Reynolds to play the Flash... yes... am I upset he is playing GL... NO... the difference is negligible, and those that are bitching would bitch on anything.
