Visual effects supervisor Karen Goulekas has announced on her Blog that Green Lantern got the official green light yesterday (Wednesday) and that filming will start in 10 weeks (sometime in March):

"Wow! Been a long time since I posted! But today is a day worth posting about!

Green Lantern got the official green light today! And not a second too soon - only 10 weeks out from shooting!

While it's great news we are a go - now we have to actually get our prep done in 10 weeks!
DOH!

But we have an amazing crew - so we will make it happen!"

Nice. Its good to hear something positive about Martin Cambell's GL adaptation. So far its been all delays and location changes. All we know for certain is that Ryan Reynolds will play Hal Jordan and that the movie is due for release June 17, 2011. Now that its received the official green light, lets hope we start to hear more casting news soon, and a few set pics too.
