"In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight..." Martin Campbell reciting the Green Lantern's oath. Showing off that he has some DC creds.

The Director will start shooting the much anticipated movie in two months. Having his Green Lantern Ryan Reynolds, the love interest in Blake Lively, Hector Hammond the villain for this piece with Peter Sarsgaard, and there are talks to have Mark Strong as Mentor turn Nemesis - Sinestro. They will have their primary location in New Orleans.

"It's a departure for me, I've never done a super hero before," said Campbell.

"What I like about this hero and this story is it's all about will power," Campbell said. "It's also about fear and about courage. It's not just a spandex suit movie. He doesn't just put on the suit and fly off and face evil kryptonite and all that."

Martin Campbell was intrigued on the aspect of the story which is about an intergalactic cop reporting to powerful masters on a distant planet.

"There is a Flash Gordon element to it, this is a superhero who goes to another planet and that's different than the rest," Campbell said. "That opens up a lot of interesting options."

From the sounds of it he really knows what he is doing. I like campbell movies both his Zorros and the two reboots of James Bond. So, I'm not worried about this film not being good.

-ACCESS out. Godspeed and MABUHAY!

This movie has been in development hell for years and now it is full steam ahead. I've been impressed with everything coming out of the GL camp so far. F/X will be the trickiest so the power of the ring doesn't come off as campy or hokey.

Flash Gordon is really a good comparison when you think about it. Both Flash and Hal where these Ubermen in their own lives; Flash was a top athlete (Polo, or football: whichever version you know best), Hal was the best test pilot there was. Both of them go from this environment where they are the top guys already legends with the ego to go with it to being thrown literally into an alien environment and once there they are put in the place of being a champion for people outside their normal sphere and working with strange and unusual people and creatures. Yeah, there are a lot of similarities. Campbell is on the ball. I like him more with every press snippet.

@Guy- lol ( if you look @ the Netflix ad up to the left , it says "Jennifer's Body" - "free trial" what's up w/ this page ?!-lol)

i hope they have the ring pass over all of the DC cities before it gets to Hal - Central City- Gotham -Metropolis ect. - even Paradise Island and Star Labs to have some DC continuity -

CAMEO!!!!!!

I say Show Lobo in a galactic Prison Cell as Sinestro is showing Hal around the joint. And some thing like a monitor that can see hidden realms on earth where there is a screen dedicated to Amazonian Culture and there developement into Demi-God'dom. And you get a glimpse of W.W. as just herself and some evil plot being formed against her. Just to show how very Powerful the lil' Blu Bastiches really are. I freakin love LoBo!!!

@shibazz - i'm feelin that, but i also think it would be cool if Lobo was doin merc work and accompanying the Corps on a mission that involved some "unorthodox means" - I luv the WW stuff- i wish they would give her a damn treatment already

@ Joey - i agree they do need to be careful but maybe they could be they vague types of cameos or inuendos like the ring thing- i suggested Lobo also bcuz they are supposed to be in talks about giving him some burn - of course we know how lengthy the "DC talks" are
