Guardians of the Galaxy Trailer on Disney Video

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits–Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Peter discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand - with the galaxy’s fate in the balance. Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is presented by Marvel Studios and stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper as the voice of Rocket, Vin Diesel as the voice of Groot, Lee Pace, Michael Rooker, Karen Gilian, Djimon Hounsou with John C. Reilly, Glenn Close as Commander Rael and Benicio del Toro as The Collector. Distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film opens August 1, 2014.

So a raccoon grabbing his crotch isn't kid friendly?

I had no idea...

pretty sure any acknowledgement that humans has genitals is considered not kid friendly. But hey, aliens getting sliced and shot left and right are totally okay. America!

Guardians of the Galaxy will change the CBM genre forever just like X-Men DOFP and Captain America:TWS did.

Guardians of the Galaxy may even be Marvel's Star Wars.

Is it me or does the CGI on Groot & Rocket sometimes seem a bit 2-Dimensional. Still, for the most part, looks great.

I doubt that crotch thing will even be addressed in the film. It'll probably be just one of those little things added in to make him feels more human.

@TheAbaryMan Probably. I remember a main thing Gunn said was that he wanted Rocket to feel as real as possible, and not like "Bugs Bunny in the middle of the Avengers". Well, as real as a talking raccoon with a big gun can be lol

Gotta say this, kid friendly should only apply to animated shows aimed at the young.
It's too politically correct to make "safe for all ages" movies. It's annoying.

I know Disney owns Marvel (sadly) but they shouldn't water down movies for the general audiences because some kids go see it.
I watched a ton of R-rated films growing up,it had zero influence on me in a bad way.

It's your living environment, your family, friends & social life that really affect how one behaves in life.

This is my all time most anticipated Marvel film since it's been announced until we get official confirmation of a Captain Marvel (Carol Danvers) or a Nova (Richard Rider) film. I'm not watching any more trailers or tv spots. This film will be the best space saga since the original Star Wars trilogy. No doubt about it.

If they left the crotch grab/ topless Gamora in the trailer that aired on Disney channel, some self-righteous parents would bitch and/or protest the movie. They're just covering their asses. And I assume few people on here even watch the Disney channel anyway, so why is this a problem?

@Nomis i dont think so. Plus, if this movie is success, we could get Nova, Captain Marvel, and Quasar movies in the future.

@Nomis Disney has no say in what movies Marvel does. Plus, Gunn said on Facebook that Disney was 100% hands off on the movie's development.

I really hope Saldana isn't going to do that annoying open mouthed growl thing she did through the entirety of Avatar. 2 minute long preview and I saw her do that shit twice. I usually am behind Marvel in their casting choices but they really tend to drop the ball on casting female characters aside from Hayley Atwell.

I'm still not sold on this film, but the effects. My God, those are incredible.

Some serious eye candy. Honestly seems like a stoner flick.

If anything kids grab their own crotch publicly more freely than adults.

Whoa hold on there....

@MrCBM - That's just because you're looking at it on a monitor screen... J/K!

Seriously, this movie will be awesome in 3D! I don't usually see movies in 3D (Avatar and then Tron 2 were the last ones I saw due to them giving my daughter headaches...Tron 2 was pretty sad in 3D), but hopefully this will be better.

By the way, anyone know if this is being shot in 3D or will it be converted afterwards?

I didn't see it as Rocket grabbing his crotch in the beginning. Now he was creating some room for his crotch, one would think.
BlindJustice
BlindJustice - 5/29/2014, 5:07 PM
Rocket Raccoon is NOT your typical talking raccoon in a Disney movie. My kids know this and they all laughed at the 2nd trailer when he did that. He's like the Wolverine of the team after all. He doesn't give a [frick] about what others think. His best line is when he mentions his short life-span haha.
BlindJustice
BlindJustice - 5/29/2014, 5:08 PM
@Dud - Yeah I agree. That was probably when they first put on the suits and it's probably a tight fit. Not many suits are tailor-made for raccoons after all.
