The art is indeed awesome. It's perfect for this series. I don't know how it could work on other superhero comics, though.

The art fits the comic as long as the art fits the tone of the comic and it isn't horrendous to look at then it is fine. I like the art style for this comic it really works. Also I love that Groot is telling the story so all the narration and the dialogue is "I am Groot".

Not every comic can be made by guys like Jim Lee and Alex Ross and their style does not fit every comic.
