Last week's double header of
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! saw our heroes step into the Black Vortex mirror, scattering them across different times and dimensions. Gamora
ended up in a world inspired by classic fairytales, while Drax woke up in a comic book that drew some pretty strong similarities to a certain web-slinging Marvel hero.
This weekend, the Black Vortext story arc will conclude with Parts Three and Four, and now Marvel has released a sneak peek at the upcoming adventure. Appropriately titled "Getting in Toon," the clip shows off the black and white, old-timey world in which Rocket finds himself trapped in. Accused of being a "bothersome pest" by none other than Ronan the Accuser, the clip teases a hilarious chase sequence that's reminscent of the Golden Age of American animation.
This classic black and white animation is one of six different styles being used to tell the Black Vortex story. Also in Part Three, Peter Quill will find himself in a claymation world which proves quite the problem when the Milano begins flying towards the sun.
Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! will once again feature a double header with Part Four immediately following. The final chapter of this multipart story arc will see Gamora and Quill, in 8-bit form, battle their way through Super Marvel World.
Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Mission Breakout! airs Sunday, May 12 on Disney XD. The double-header will begin at 9:30 p.m. ET.
