GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY's Zoe Saldana Says Shes Proud Of Disney For Bringing Back James Gunn

After some (extremely) old controversial Tweets surfaced, GOTG director James Gunn suddenly found himself on the outside looking in, on the quirky Marvel Studios franchise he'd nurtured for years.

Entertainment Tonight caught up with Avengers: Endgame actress Zoe Saldana and asked for her thoughts on Disney rehiring James Gunn after firing him because of some inappropriate social media posts.

"I'm proud of him. I'm happy that he's coming back.  I'm so proud of Disney, actually, that all the leaders right now behind that big corporation decided to lead by example, and spreading the word and the message of redemption is important."

Saldana was one of the core Guardians cast who called on Disney to rehire Gunn back in July, via Chris Pratt's Instagram.

Gunn was reinstated by Disney earlier this month. Though the controversy and dismissal of Gunn saw the director hired to helm Warner Bros.' The Suicide Squad and delayed production on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, which was originally scheduled to begin shooting back in February.

In other news, James Gunn has been officially listed as an executive producer for Endgame, just like he was for Infinity War. :-)
