El Mayimbe of Latino Review has recently tweeted that marvel will continuing to screen test actors for the role of Drax the Destroyer.
After news broke on Latino Review that Jason Momoa had screen tested, and been offered the role of Drax the Destroyer in the new marvel film Guardians Of The Galaxy. It would look like he has put himself in a simile situation as Terrence Howard. According to El Mayimbe, Momoa is asking to be paid big dollars if Marvel wants him in there new Franchise film.
For an agency that gets made fun of alot, APA is playing a dangerous game with Marvel. They need to lower their client's expectations a tad. Momoa is a dope actor & I think he would crush the role of Drax. Hope it all works out.
Momoa has been many Fans choice for a long time, and news of his involvement has had positive reaction, but this latest stunt could Jeopardize his chances of playing the green skinned warrior. For those who don't remember in 2008 marvel recast Iron Mans Terrence Howard do to contract disputes. Like Howard, Momoa is showing similar tendency marvel is famous for not dealing with. But Momoas star is rising, having had lead roles in Conan and Bullet to the Head. He might be able to get his way, and force marvel to pay him what he's asking for.
In any case director James Gunn has stated in the past that the film "It's not cast-dependent. We could make the movie with unknowns if we wanted to," as he revealed at the Celluloid Heroes panel, at MorrisonCon in Las Vegas Last year.
No names have been mentioned on who will screen test. So what do you think, will Marvel & James Gunn cave to Momoas demands? Or will he follow in the paths of other actors who have asked Marvel for to much? What do you think.
