"You're Welcome" is the tagline which accompanies the Guardians of the Galaxy trailer, but just how happy are you feeling about what you've seen of the movie so far? The featurettes released yesterday certainly helped to shed some light on the main cast of characters, while many declared the poster as Marvel's best yet. However, what did you think of the trailer? Did it set the tone perfectly, or did you hate every second? Here's your chance to let us know...

From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.

@whysoserious54 ...marvel even in his comic books do jokes, why always all the thing has to be dark and serious like the Nolan'a crap, and also the walkman? is not a joke, is the only thing that Starlord keeps from the earth, thats why he like it so much

WTH! Why haven't we heard Groot speak yet? He has one bloody line!
Beside the trailer, I'm actually really looking forward to the film though.

Options 2 and 3 are very similar to each other. So are options 4 and 5.

I like how ironic @whysoserious54's comment is.

For me, it's mostly the tone that I'll have to get used to. It's ridiculous, it's out there, it's sarcastic, it's funny. And it knows it. It comes across as making fun of itself, and that's exactly the type of self-deprecating humor that could really help a movie with a gun-toting raccoon, a talking tree, and a bunch of really weird aliens, become a really big hit. The trailer wasn't the best thing ever, but it was intriguing.

Not close to perfect. I was expecting something more dynamic. Visually it looked great but the trailer itself came across too campy. Even the pacing seemed off. Especially the Starlord interaction with the arresting aliens. Nothing I saw seemed to really own the scenario. Something was just missing an the humor was just too juvenile and unfunny.

That said I will watch it and give it a try.
I hope the full trailer is better.

It was alright. And having Rocket Racoon in a movie is one step closer to my Squirrel Girl movie...

...

I REALLY want a Squirrel Girl movie.

It was alright, I think many people were just finally excited to see something from the film but it seems like a LOT of people are questioning "Marvel is making comedy's now?' But most people have to keep explaining that the Guardians are a humorous team in the comics.

I've personally never read any of their comics but I did see that one episode featuring them in "Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes" and I found it pretty entertaining! I would've honestly switched the release dates of Guardians of the Galaxy and Ant-Man because it would've made more sense to have Pym play a bigger role in AOU. That way there would've been no need for an old ant-man and etc. (I still cool with it) it just seems like Guardians would've been best to introduce in the beginning of a phase 3 since that phase will be boosting the cosmic scale.

I'm sure Marvel has their reasons but you would've been looking at a few things different with Age of Ultron.

It looked interesting but there was too much goofy dialogue. The forced comedy does not work.
TheRationalNerd
TheRationalNerd - 2/21/2014, 2:29 PM
Oh and Groot only says 3 words in the film.

Basically..."I AM GROOT" lol

Great. A nice introduction to the Marvel Universe and the characters.

That Blue Swede 70s song (hooked on a feeling) was, different, and actually kind of cool.

@FordEl

Agreed, it was just a trailer but I did expect a but more to it than the humor. There will be action no doubt at all, I actually liked the short clip released with Rocket hyping up the prisoners! lol

@Nasseal0101 ...i hate transformers, and why u name inception? we are talking about comic book movies and i liked begins, it was the journey of Bruce...but in TDK...he...was still learning...i dont know, if you compare begins with TDK batman chance to worse...he didnt even see him in the shadows in the second one, is good for the act of Ledger, i liked both, ...(tdkr no so much) but i mean that not all the thing has to be dark in the movies when the people complains about the jokes of marvel, that all....and really, i hate transformes D: is almost a sin say their name, frick u Bay

Like other people have said, you can tell who hasn't read the modern GOTG.smh

"seems like a LOT of people are questioning "Marvel is making comedy's now"?
What people??

I thought it was good but not great however when I talked to a bunch of non comic book followers about the trailer they were quite impressed on its quirkiness and humour that they all wanted to see it. Looks like marvel and Disney got the attention of the average movie goer.
Personally I want to see a trailer that skips the intro of the characters and gets I to the meat and potatoes. Show Thanos and all those people will be like "That's the guy at the end of the Avengers!!!!!!"
